Timeless, comfortable and versatile - the essential basic for children's natural wardrobe.

This pearl merino wool sweater from Reiff is a must-have in a sustainable children's wardrobe: a timeless basic, comfortable and easy to wear every day.
Its voluminous beaded mesh provides texture and a beautiful drape, while remaining flexible and comfortable to move with you.

A sweater designed to accompany the child for several years and to go through the seasons without going out of style.

An exceptional organic merino wool

  • Made from pure organic virgin merino wool (kbT)
  • Bulky beaded knit, offering light and breathable warmth
  • Naturally thermoregulating fiber
  • Comfortable against the skin and good moisture management

Merino wool naturally regulates body temperature, absorbs moisture and limits odors, which reduces the frequency of washing - a real advantage for children's clothing.

A timeless basic, easy to wear

This sweater is a true all-rounder for children:

  • Comfortable fit, suitable for everyday wear
  • Structured ribbed knit for good durability
  • easy to pair with trousers, skirts or dresses
  • ideal for a sustainable and minimalist children's wardrobe
  • same knit as the Lara women's sweater and the Anton men's sweater

The colours are coordinated with the entire Reiff collection, to create harmonious outfits that are easy to combine with other natural brands offered in the store.

Impeccable German quality

Reiff is a German family business specializing in knitwear and natural textiles, with local production and strict quality control.
(see Ecology & Manufacturing below).

Each piece is made with high technical precision to guarantee durability, comfort and resistance, even under intensive use by children.

Wearing and layering tips

  • Can be worn directly against the skin thanks to the softness of merino wool.
  • In very cold weather, it can be combined with a thin wool-silk layer (e.g., Cosilana) for added warmth.
  • Suitable for school, outings, playtime, and travel.

"MaMoulia's Favorite House"

This product is one of my favorite discoveries in Germany during my meeting with the Reiff family .

It has been carefully selected not only for the quality of its natural wool, but also to meet essential expectations:

  • softness on the skin
  • natural heat
  • modern and timeless design
  • easy to wear and match
  • durability over many years
  • And it's a very beautiful product!

This is a real discovery that joins my personal wardrobe selection , a garment designed to be worn, loved and kept for a long time.

Colors:

Aqua blue, Sage green, Black cherry, Taupe beige, Mauve, Navy blue, Terracotta, Turmeric

Sizes:

62/68, 74/80, 86/92, 98/104, 104, 116, 128, 140, 152

Sizing advice

Note: Every baby and child grows at their own pace. Maison de MaMoulia recommends choosing the size based on height in centimeters rather than an approximate age.

Understanding Reiff children's sizes

At Reiff, each size is designed to last until the next size. For example, a size 98/104 is designed to cover the entire growth period until the next size , approximately from 98 to 110 cm (and often beyond depending on the child's build).

Therefore, this is not a garment strictly limited to 98-104 cm, but an evolving size designed to accompany growth over an extended period.

Living Woolℱ - Living Wool is an internal expertise concept-label developed by Maison de MaMoulia to identify products whose wool fiber is preserved as close as possible to its natural state, in the absence of industrial anti-felting treatments.

Untreated wool - an authentic and living fiber

This garment is made from untreated merino wool , without any industrial anti-felting treatment (such as Superwash, enzymes, NaturetexxÂź, polymer coatings, silicones or other similar processes).

The fiber thus retains its intact natural structure , responsible for its unique properties , as well as its natural lanolin.
This is what we call authentic and living wool.

Unlike wools treated to remove scales, artificially soften the fiber, and withstand machine washing, this wool naturally retains:

  • its thermoregulation (neither too hot nor too cold)
  • its ability to absorb moisture while remaining dry to the touch
  • its natural antibacterial properties
  • its resistance to odors and dirt
  • its natural elasticity (the garment returns to its shape when at rest)
  • its self-maintenance capacity through simple aeration

It is this intact fiber that allows for reduced washing, lasting, healthy and ecological comfort, and the preservation of a garment designed to last over time.

The natural benefits of merino wool

  • Naturally breathable, wool allows moisture to evaporate.
  • Warm but never stifling, suitable for all year round
  • Regulates temperature and creates a microclimate around the body
  • Resistant to odors and stains, therefore less frequent washing is required.
  • Antibacterial thanks to the pH of untreated wool
  • Elastic, returns to its shape after use (knees, buttocks, fabric stretching)
  • Soft and comfortable against the skin
  • Flame-retardant and UV-protective
  • Antistatic
  • 100% natural, recyclable and – truly – biodegradable

Composition

‱ Pure organic merino wool
‱ GOTS and IVN certified
‱ Without Superwash treatment or any other treatment
‱ Wool sourced from a guaranteed non-mulesing production in Patagonia

Conseils d'entretien

Pure, untreated wool garments do not need to be washed frequently.
Wool has a natural self-maintenance capacity thanks to its fibrous structure, keratin and lanolin.

‱ Routine maintenance (recommended)

- Regular ventilation in the open air (ideally outside, or in front of an open window).

- Rest after each use: hang the garment on a hanger or drying rack, do not leave it in a ball in order to preserve the fiber and its shape.

- Local cleaning of stains under water at room temperature with Ulrich ox gall stain-removing soap or genuine Marseille soap.

‱ Complete wash (rare)

- A complete wash should remain exceptional.

- Hand washing is highly recommended.

- Cold water or water at room temperature.

- Ulrich NatĂŒrlich special liquid wool laundry detergent, ideally the version already enriched with lanolin in order to limit the contact time with water and avoid having to do a separate Cure bath.

-Wash temperature = rinse temperature (avoid any thermal shock).

- Do not wring, wrap in a towel to absorb.

- Dry flat, away from the sun and any source of heat.

‱ If you choose machine washing:

To be avoided as much as possible.

- “Hand wash” or “Wool” program configured as follows:

-20 °C

- without spin or 400 rpm maximum

- short cycle (40 minutes maximum)
If your machine does not allow these settings, do not use the machine wash function.

Untreated wool naturally felts under the combined effect of heat, water, and friction. These precautions aim to preserve the fiber's intact structure and natural properties.

Fabrication & Écologie

○ Reiff Strickwaren is a German family company specializing in knitting and natural textiles, founded in 1939 in Gönningen, at the foot of the Swabian massif (Baden-WĂŒrttemberg).

For three generations, Reiff has been designing and manufacturing clothing in organic merino wool and other natural fibers, with an integrated production: from pattern development to the finished product, everything is done in-house or with local partners.

The company started with baby and children's clothing, then gradually expanded its offering to include women's and men's apparel. Today, Reiff is a long-established player in the German eco-friendly textile industry, with production focused on quality, sustainability, and supply chain transparency.

Reiff works exclusively with merino wool from certified organic farms, adhering to strict standards of animal welfare and organic farming. The company is a member of the IVN (International Association of the Natural Textile Industry) and complies with the requirements of the GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard).

○ Manufacturing and ecology at Reiff

‱ Raw materials and animal welfare

Reiff clothing is made primarily from merino wool sourced from certified organic farms (kbT) in Patagonia (South America).
The wool is guaranteed mulesing-free, as mulesing is not used in this region.

‱ Wool processing and spinning

After shearing and washing, the wool is sent to Germany.
The following stages - spinning, dyeing and yarn preparation - are carried out in Germany or Europe.
The dyes used are synthetic, but the entire chain (from breeding to ready-to-knit yarn) is certified according to GOTS criteria, and largely according to the even stricter IVN standard.

‱ Local production and short supply chain

Reiff is an integrated knitting company:

- The knitted fabrics are produced in-house on modern Stoll machines.
- the manufacturing and finishing are carried out in their own workshops or at partners located within a maximum radius of 50 km.

This organization allows for high traceability, strict quality control and a significant reduction in transport distances.

‱ Components and accessories

The accessories are selected according to ecological criteria:

- buttons made of mother-of-pearl, corozo nut, or metal,
- Zippers made primarily from recycled plastic,
- sewing thread made of cotton or cotton-sheathed polyester.
All components meet at least the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certification.

‱ Certifications and standards

Reiff meets the requirements:

- GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) for the organic textile supply chain,
- IVN Best (partially achieved), one of the strictest ecological textile standards in the world.
The company has been a member of the IVN for over ten years.

Questions fréquentes

‱ Does wool make you itch?
No.
The fine knit is soft, often compared to cotton in feel.

‱ Can it be worn directly on the skin?
Yes.
The fine mesh is designed for direct wear against the skin.
Depending on individual sensitivity, a wool/silk layer can be worn underneath.

‱ How long can it be worn without washing?
Dozens of times depending on usage, with simple ventilation.

‱ Is it hot?
Wool is thermoregulating: warm when it's cold, breathable when it's warm. Adding a base layer of wool or a wool-silk blend is possible in sub-zero temperatures.

‱ Does wool stretch?
Yes, slightly so with use, but it regains its shape after resting.

‱ Is it suitable for sensitive skin?
Yes, merino wool is finer than a human hair. By maintaining its lanolin, which moisturizes it, you'll have a very comfortable garment to wear.

Conseils de Yuliya

‱ In very cold weather, wearing a Cosilana wool-silk t-shirt underneath is possible to reinforce the thermal layer.

‱ Avoid using deodorants containing oils (organic or homemade): they can clog the fibers and reduce their ability to breathe, just as some diaper rash creams for babies can clog washable diapers.
If an odor persists despite 1 to 2 days of airing in fresh air, the wool may need to be cleaned.

‱ I highly recommend hand washing to preserve the size and structure of the garment.
Ulrich NatĂŒrlich laundry detergent enriched with lanolin is highly recommended.

Reiff
