Fisherman Out of Ireland
Fisherman Out of Ireland is an Irish contemporary knitwear brand founded in 1991 by the historic Blarney Woollen Mills family.
All pieces are designed and knitted in their own workshop in Kilcar, Donegal - a region historically linked to textiles and fishing communities.
The brand distinguishes itself through a very specific approach:
to take the traditional codes of Irish knitting (Aran, Donegal, reliefs, textured stitches) and translate them into a modern, clean and wearable silhouette for everyday use.
Each collection is born from the local landscape - Atlantic, rocks, salt grasses, mists - which directly influences the yarns, textures and color palettes.
According to Blarney Woollen Mills, the goal is a "farm-to-garment" approach based on sustainability, product longevity and transparency in the textile supply chain.
Here, ecology is not based on a marketing effect but on a material principle:
A durable garment is first and foremost a garment that you keep for a long time.
