You are looking for:

  • A natural thermoregulating garment, but softer than pure wool, if your child still finds it slightly irritating?
  • A bodysuit for very sensitive or reactive skin, made with breathable and comfortable natural fibers?
  • A thin, discreet, thermoregulating second skin, to wear all year round?
  • A garment that helps manage a child's perspiration, especially when moving indoors/outdoors, to prevent the feeling of cold on a damp back?

Description

Long-sleeved bodysuit in organic merino wool and silk, from the German eco-friendly brand Cosilana.

An extremely soft, thin, and warm bodysuit designed to be worn directly against the skin. Ideal as thermal underwear in winter, as pajamas, or as a standalone garment the rest of the year.

  • A second natural skin : thin, enveloping, without compression.
  • Natural thermoregulation : helps keep skin dry and comfortable.
  • American neckline for easy dressing.
  • Versatile : thermal underwear, pyjamas or bodysuit worn alone.

This is the garment to have as an essential first layer , the one that directly influences the overall thermoregulation of the body.

This precious layer, made of untreated natural fibers, keeps the skin dry. The air thus dried can then be warmed by our own body heat and retained by the pure wool intermediate layer worn over it.

The first layer is the most important. It is in direct contact with the skin and governs the body's entire thermoregulation. It must be natural!

Its role is not to "heat up", but to:

  • absorb moisture (perspiration),
  • keep the skin dry.
  • create a thin layer of dry air around the body.

Untreated wool (or wool-silk) is particularly effective for this function, unlike synthetic fibers which retain moisture against the skin.

The wool and silk blend combines:

  • the thermoregulatory and breathable properties of wool,
  • Silk is an exceptionally smooth and fine natural fiber, renowned for its softness and comfort on the skin.
It creates a comforting, enveloping sensation, like a textile cocoon, respectful and soothing, protecting the skin from friction and external aggressors. On the skin, silk replicates this cocooning feeling: an incredibly smooth, enveloping, and soothing touch that respects the skin and creates a soft barrier between the body and the environment. Combined with merino wool, it transforms this garment into a true second skin , protective, breathable, and naturally comfortable.

Colors: Ecru, gray, navy blue, green, orange, purple, pink

Available sizes:

62/68cm, 74/80cm, 86/92cm, 98/104cm

Living Wool™ - Living Wool is an internal expertise concept-label developed by Maison de MaMoulia to identify products whose wool fiber is preserved as close as possible to its natural state, in the absence of industrial anti-felting treatments.

Untreated wool - an authentic and living fiber

This garment is made from untreated merino wool , without any industrial anti-felting treatment (such as Superwash, enzymes, Naturetexx®, polymer coatings, silicones or other similar processes).

The fiber thus retains its intact natural structure , responsible for its unique properties , as well as its natural lanolin.
This is what we call authentic and living wool.

Unlike wools treated to remove scales, artificially soften the fiber, and withstand machine washing, this wool naturally retains:

  • its thermoregulation (neither too hot nor too cold)
  • its ability to absorb moisture while remaining dry to the touch
  • its natural antibacterial properties
  • its resistance to odors and dirt
  • its natural elasticity (the garment returns to its shape when at rest)
  • its self-maintenance capacity through simple aeration

It is this intact fiber that allows for reduced washing, lasting, healthy and ecological comfort, and the preservation of a garment designed to last over time.

The natural benefits of merino wool

  • Naturally breathable, wool allows moisture to evaporate.
  • Warm but never stifling, suitable for all year round
  • Regulates temperature and creates a microclimate around the body
  • Resistant to odors and stains, therefore less frequent washing is required.
  • Antibacterial thanks to the pH of untreated wool
  • Elastic, returns to its shape after use (knees, buttocks, fabric stretching)
  • Soft and comfortable against the skin
  • Flame-retardant and UV-protective
  • Antistatic
  • 100% natural, recyclable and – truly – biodegradable

Composition

Merino wool 70% / silk 30%

Fabrication & Écologie

Cosilana is proud to be one of the few remaining brands that have not used any treatment for over 50 years, to preserve the properties intact!

Cosilana produces its clothing ecologically and sustainably in Germany, in the Baden-Württemberg region. The brand prioritizes responsible production, using materials and processes that meet high environmental standards.

The natural fibers and manufacturing processes are GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified, guaranteeing strict criteria on the organic origin of the materials, ecological processing and production conditions.

For Cosilana, sustainability is not just about raw materials, but the entire production chain. The brand's philosophy is based on daily responsibility and respect for the environment, in order to contribute to a more sustainable future for the planet and future generations.

Questions fréquentes

• Is it hot?
Yes, but in a thermoregulated way. The wool keeps the skin dry and creates an insulating layer of air warmed by body heat. The bodysuit is thin, but functions as a basic thermal layer.

• Is it worn alone or under another garment?
Both are possible:
- as a bodysuit on its own, all year round, or as pyjamas
- as a first layer under another top or a jumpsuit/sleeping bag.

• Can it be worn for a long time without washing, like pure wool?
No, a little less time, but it's very subjective. One thing is certain: there's no need to wash this garment after every use. Even a urine leak won't stay with simple airing in fresh air.
Wool is naturally breathable and limits odors, which allows for less frequent washing.
The presence of silk does not negate this property; it is also a thermoregulating material, but it is recommended to air the garment between wears to prolong its freshness and lifespan.

• Does wool make you itch?
The combination of fine merino wool and organic silk is renowned for its softness. The silk provides a smooth feel directly against the skin, making this garment generally very well tolerated by sensitive skin.
However, since skin sensitivity is individual, perception may vary from person to person.

• Is it suitable for sensitive skin (eczema, reactive skin)?
Absolutely!
Fine wool and silk are breathable natural fibers, often appreciated by sensitive skin, with improvements noted by my clients.
This product is not a medical device, but it is designed to be worn directly on the skin with maximum comfort.

• Can it be machine washed?
No Cosilana wool-silk garment is recommended for machine washing, even on a cold cycle and at 400 rpm (trust my years of experience with this fabric). Even if shrinkage or thickening isn't necessarily and always visible after the first wash, it will gradually appear with each machine wash, accompanied by small holes.
A quick hand wash is simple and accessible to everyone, and helps to preserve this garment so that it continues to take care of your skin and its natural properties in the long term.

Conseils de Yuliya

• Choose the size based on the child's height in centimeters, not their age.
Each size is designed to be worn until the child reaches the next size.
For example :
A size 62/68 can be worn as long as the child measures between 62 cm and approximately 74 cm (the next size up).
and not only between 62 cm and 68 cm.

• It is not necessary to wash this garment after each use. Wool-silk garments can be worn several times with simple airing between wears.
Small stains can be cleaned locally by hand, without washing the entire garment.
Even in the case of small urine leaks, a complete wash is not always necessary: airing is often enough to refresh the fiber thanks to the naturally breathable properties of wool.

• This product is one of my absolute favorites and I highly recommend it! It's an essential first layer that will influence all the other layers of clothing.

• I highly recommend hand washing to preserve the size and structure of the garment.
Ulrich Natürlich products (laundry detergent, treatment, stain-removing soap) are highly recommended.

Cosilana
