Disana
Disana was founded in 1982 in Germany, at a time when natural textiles were still a niche market. From the outset, the family business followed a simple conviction: healthy clothing begins with an undamaged fiber. Rather than following the trend of industrial textile production, the brand chose to preserve local expertise and produce garments designed to last.
Over the years, Disana has been one of the few European manufacturers to maintain a largely integrated production chain in Germany. Knitting, garment making, and quality control are all carried out in their own workshops. This choice allows them to control quality, minimize transportation, and preserve a true textile craft. Each piece is designed as a functional and timeless textile, intended to be a part of everyday life for years to come.
Merino wool comes from farms that prioritize animal welfare and are guaranteed mulesing-free. The fibers are selected for their natural propertiesâbreathability, temperature regulation, and durabilityâand processed using methods compatible with the material to protect both skin and the environment. GOTS and IVN BEST certifications cover the entire supply chain: complete traceability, absence of harmful substances, and fair working conditions.
At Disana, sustainability goes beyond the product itself. Reusing textile scraps, repairing garments, and passing on know-how are integral to their approach. The pieces are designed to be worn for a long time, often passed down from child to child, based on the idea that a well-made garment can last for several lifetimes rather than just one season.
