Natural thermoregulation | Comfort | Safety | Multi-purpose

Your child…

  • sweats in bed and wakes up because of the humidity?
  • falls asleep in your arms but immediately wakes up in a cold bed?
  • Does he sometimes sleep elsewhere (travel, holidays, at family's house) and have trouble settling down in an unfamiliar bed?
  • You use a floor bed (Montessori type) and you want a natural, breathable and secure support?
  • Are you still experiencing leaks or pee accidents and are you tired of changing the sheets in the middle of the night?
  • You play on the floor and you're looking for a natural rug that's thick, warm in winter, and breathable in summer?
  • And you dream of a portable rug, usable both in bed and as a play mat?

And you too , would you dream of enjoying this thermoregulating comfort all year round - without having to invest in a sheepskin rug the size of a king-size bed?

Kaiser lambskin - Relugan tanning is the answer to all these situations.

Why this sheepskin?

• Unparalleled comfort in bed

Ideal for a baby/child's bed, co-sleeping or sleeping on the floor.
Nothing like classic sheets: the fiber naturally regulates temperature and keeps the child dry.

• A useful baby gift for years to come

The lambskin follows the child:
bed => bed on vacation => play area => decorations on the armchair later
It becomes a truly comforting companion thanks to the scent of the parents.

• Relugan tanning (medical grade, chrome-free)

Golden color obtained solely through the tanning process, not through dyeing.
Gentle, safe, very low environmental impact.

Technical specifications

  • Dimensions: 60×120 cm or 70x140 cm
  • Short hairs: ~30 mm
  • Patchwork (carefully assembled pieces, practical, durable, economical)
  • Natural golden color obtained through the Relugan process (undyed)

The unique advantages of lambskin

• Natural thermoregulation

  • Warm in winter
  • Cool in summer
  • Regulates the temperature continuously

• Optimal humidity management

Absorbs up to 30% of its weight in moisture without looking wet.

• Naturally antibacterial

Wool has a surface with a very acidic pH: an environment that is not very favorable to the development of bacteria and viruses.

• Emotional safety

  • Imbued with the parents' scent => soothed baby
  • Imbued with the child's scent => a sensory "comfort object"

• A universal solution

  • baby/child/teen bed
  • play mat
  • Montessori floor mat
  • journey
  • interior decorating later

There's no age limit for starting to sleep on a sheepskin!

Questions fréquentes

• From what age can a lambskin be used?
From birth. Relugan tanning (known as “medical”, chrome-free) is designed for baby/child use and complies with European safety standards.

• Doesn't the skin get too hot in summer?
No. Wool naturally regulates temperature: it stays cool when it's hot and warm when it's cold. This is one of its major advantages over synthetic coverings.

• Can it be used directly in a baby bed without a sheet over it?
Yes. To fully benefit from the thermoregulating and self-cleaning properties of wool, it is best to use the sheepskin directly, without a sheet over it. The short pile (30 mm) of the Relugan tanned sheepskin is designed for direct and safe contact, while still allowing air to circulate and moisture to be regulated naturally.

• Is the skin suitable for people with allergies?
Yes. You can't be allergic to wool. On the contrary: sleeping on natural skin strengthens the immune system and reduces the risk of allergies, because it doesn't offer an artificially "sterile" environment.

• How to manage urine leaks?
There is no need to wash the skin. Airing it out is sufficient: Relugan skins do not retain odor or residual moisture thanks to natural lanolin.

• Do I need to wash my skin before first use?
Absolutely not. A natural sheep smell is normal at first. Just let it air out for a few days. The first wash always weakens the leather: it should be reserved for exceptional circumstances.

• Can you machine wash the skin?
No, it is still not recommended. Hand washing is strongly advised, and only if absolutely necessary (exceptional cases: vomiting, gastroenteritis, significant soiling).
Drying must be done strictly flat, without twisting, without mechanical wringing, without radiator or direct sunlight.

• Does the skin lose its hair?
Like our hair, yes. But also – a light down may appear at first, that's normal. Regular brushing removes this excess and stabilizes the coat.

• Can it also be used for adults?
Yes, absolutely. It improves thermal comfort, absorbs moisture, and promotes sleep. Many adults use it in the car, on their office chair, or directly on the bed.

Conseils de Yuliya

• Avoid buying long-haired and Mimosa skins (white, non-washable) for babies
• Upon receipt: do not wash it! The natural odor is normal => air it out for a few days
• Before using it with your baby: sleep on it for 2–3 nights to transfer your scent

"I discovered lambskin in 2009 when I saw a mother using it in 30°C weather in a stroller.
I thought to myself, "She's crazy"... while my baby was sweating in hers.
In the end, it was my second child who had the chance to benefit from it from the beginning.
My eldest son, on the other hand, lost 4 years of comfort because of my prejudices.

Since 2012, Kaiser hides have been everywhere in our home: beds, armchairs, car, travel…»

Kaiser
