    • Looking for a warm blanket that won't make you sweat?
    • An alternative to often stifling synthetic throws?
    • A durable piece, suitable for sleeping as well as relaxing?
    • Undecided between several colors to vary your decor?

    Disana Double-faced Boiled Wool Blanket

    - a versatile, natural, and truly comfortable blanket

This wool blanket is designed to accompany you through all moments of daily life.

A merino sheep produces an average of 3 to 3.5 kg of wool per year. After washing, cleaning, and carding, about 1.7 kg of usable wool remains – exactly the quantity Disana needs to make a blanket.

You thus benefit from the natural warmth of an entire merino sheep, yet the blanket remains surprisingly lightweight, incredibly soft, and extremely comfortable.

Its unique character also lies in the subtle interplay of two colors: the delicate contrast of shades, combined with the softness of the wool, makes each double-faced Disana blanket truly unique.

Two sizes to suit your needs

    • 100 x 135 cm: ideal for babies and children, or for on-the-go use
    • 135 x 200 cm: perfect for a single bed or adults

Folded in half, the larger size is also suitable for smaller children.

    A blanket for everything

    • blanket for a child's bed or single bed
    • warm throw for the living room (reading, TV, relaxing)
    • bed or sofa throw
    • cozy blanket for rest times

    One piece, multiple uses.

Wool: a living warmth, different from synthetics

    Unlike synthetic blankets:

    • wool does not block heat, it regulates it
    • it allows the body to breathe
    • it prevents the "too hot then too cold" effect

Result: a stable sense of comfort, without overheating.

    Natural thermoregulation

    • retains useful warmth
    • absorbs moisture without feeling wet
    • maintains a dry and pleasant climate

Wool can absorb up to 30% of its weight in moisture while remaining dry to the touch.

    Why avoid synthetic blankets

    Synthetic materials:

    • retain moisture
    • create a stifling sensation
    • promote sweating
    • often cause a feeling of cold after sweating

Wool does the opposite: it supports the body instead of going against it.

    Lasting comfort

    • soft and enveloping material
    • gentle warmth
    • does not flatten over time

A blanket that remains pleasant year after year.

    Colors:

    Grey/Natural, Hazelnut/Caramel, Caramel/Natural, Anthracite/Grey, Indigo/Dove Blue, Rose/Natural, Eucalyptus/Jade, Olive/Jade, Aubergine/Lilac

    Composition

    • Pure organic merino wool, sourced from a production guaranteed to be mulesing-free and respectful of animal welfare. The wool comes from Patagonia, where the climate makes this practice unnecessary.

    • The fibers are of very high quality, free of harmful substances at any stage of the manufacturing process, and free of microplastics. The dyes used are certified for natural fibers, and are kind to both skin and the environment.

    • Production is GOTS and IVN BEST certified by Ecocert Greenlife (license no. 151699), with short production circuits guaranteeing traceability, quality and environmental responsibility.

    Conseils d'entretien

Natural wool does not need frequent washing. Regular airing is often sufficient.

Local cleaning of stains under ambient water with Ulrich gall or genuine Marseille stain-removing soap.

    ○ Complete wash (rare, when really necessary):

    • Hand wash only. No machine washing, even on a "wool" or "delicate" program.
    • Cold or room temperature water
    • Essential rule: the same temperature for washing and rinsing
    • Eco-friendly liquid laundry detergent specially formulated for wool or enriched with lanolin

    ○ Drying
    • No tumble dryer
    • No radiators, electric heating, or direct sunlight
    • Drying flat
    • Reshape during drying

    ○ Lanolin Maintenance
    • For this wool, it is preferable to use Ulrich laundry detergent already enriched with lanolin, rather than prolonged soaking with a Cure or Impregnation.

    Fabrication & Écologie

Since 1982, Disana has manufactured its products in Germany, maintaining a largely integrated production chain: knitting, garment making, and quality control are all carried out in its own workshops, ensuring complete traceability and minimizing transportation. This local production allows the company to preserve traditional textile expertise while ensuring consistent quality.

Merino wool comes from farms that prioritize animal welfare and are guaranteed mulesing-free. The fibers are selected for their natural properties—breathability, thermoregulation, and strength—and then processed using methods compatible with their structure to avoid unnecessary alterations. Dyes are chosen for their low environmental impact and compatibility with the fiber.

The textiles are GOTS and IVN BEST certified, two demanding standards that govern the organic origin of the materials, the absence of harmful substances, fair working conditions, and strict environmental criteria. The approach also includes waste reduction, the reuse of production scraps, product repairability, and the transmission of know-how.

The whole aims for the same objective: to create functional, durable and transmissible clothing, designed to accompany daily use for a long time rather than a short consumption cycle.

    Questions fréquentes

    • Is this blanket really warm?
    Yes.
This is Disana's warmest and thickest blanket. It offers excellent thermal insulation while remaining lightweight.

    • Can it be used all year round?
    Yes.
    Merino wool is naturally thermoregulating:
    - It keeps you warm in winter,
    - remains comfortable and breathable in mid-season and summer.
It regulates body temperature without causing overheating.

    • Does wool make you itch?
The merino wool used by Disana is selected for its fineness and softness.
Most people find it very comfortable, even in direct contact with the skin.

    • Is it a heavy blanket?
    No.
Despite its warmth, the knitted fabric remains supple and relatively light for a 100% wool blanket.
It is lighter than many equivalent thick or synthetic blankets.

    Conseils de Yuliya

I discovered this brand in 2012, when I bought a small blanket (Original model in ecru, the brand's first product) for my baby, then a boiled wool jumpsuit.
The discoveries of this quality and perfect thermoregulation were a real game-changer: faced with the lack of these products in France, I started offering them in stores in 2013, actively contributing to the development and visibility of Disana on the French market ever since.

I also had the pleasure of visiting the brand's factory in Germany and meeting their teams on several occasions. Disana now holds no secrets for me, and I wholeheartedly recommend it for both children and adults.

    • I have 3 double-sided blankets at home; in very cold weather they serve as a double layer over our wool duvets, with +16...+17° in the room.

    • I insist that these beauties should only be washed by hand (if necessary!) if you want them to last for many years while taking care of you.

    Disana
