Alpacas live on the Andean high plateaus, where temperatures can range from -25°C at night to +18°C during the day!
Their fiber has naturally adapted to these extreme variations: it insulates against cold while wicking away excess heat.

Size guide:
Esencia sizes are expressed in international sizes, they fit like French sizes. Choose your usual size.
Example: I am 177cm tall and wear an M-38 FR, my size at Esencia is an M.
Thanks to its naturally stretchy ribbed knit, this model flexibly conforms to the body: size S can also suit a 34, and size XL a 44.
About the sizing of wool garments
Genuine untreated wool retains its natural structure.
Unlike fibers stabilized by polymers, it remains supple and alive: the fiber can stretch naturally (up to approximately +30%) and then return to its shape, without permanent deformation.
An untreated wool garment, therefore, never remains completely fixed to a strict textile pattern.
It adapts to the body, movements, and ambient humidity: the material works, breathes, and accompanies the morphology.
Consequently, the size does not correspond to a closed category.
The main difference between two sizes lies mainly in the length (sleeves, total height), while the ease in width remains adaptable.
