Extra-fine socks in pure natural silk.

Very soft, light and silky to the touch, they are particularly suitable for sensitive skin that cannot tolerate synthetic fibers or is very sensitive to pure wool.

Silk is naturally thermoregulating:
it helps maintain a stable temperature while remaining breathable.

To wear:

  • alone all year round
  • under a pair of wool socks in winter
  • as a thin technical layer under thicker models

Why silk?

Silk is a natural protein fiber, like wool.

It is:

  • naturally resistant despite its fineness
  • soft and smooth against the skin
  • breathable
  • moisture-regulating

Worn under a wool sock, it improves thermal comfort and limits rubbing.

Color:

Ecru and black

Size guide

Measurements are given as an indication. A variation of approximately 0.5 to 1 cm may exist.

The indicated sizes correspond to German shoe sizes and are offered in double sizes (e.g., 36-37, 38-39).

Between two sizes?

This model is fitted. Take your usual shoe size. If you are between two shoe sizes or hesitate between two double sizes, choose the smaller one.

Ex: my shoe size is a good 41, I wear 40-41 for this model, I don't take 38-39 or 42-43.

Please note:
by taking the next size up, you are actually anticipating two full shoe sizes.

It is better to have a well-fitting sock, which fully plays its thermal role, than a model that is too loose and difficult to use.

Maintenance tips

Silk is a fine natural fiber, strong when dry but more vulnerable when wet.

‱ Washing
- Hand washing strongly recommended
- Quick wash
- Do not soak for more than 5 minutes.
Silk loses strength when wet, so it's important to limit its exposure to water.

‱ If machine washing is exceptionally necessary:

- Cold program only
- No spinning
- Delicate cycle

‱ Important:
The washing temperature must be the same as the rinsing temperature.
Thermal variations weaken protein fibers (silk and wool).

‱ Detergent
- Ecological liquid detergent for wool or delicate laundry
- Avoid conventional alkaline detergents
- Alkaline detergents alter the natural structure of protein fibers and reduce their longevity.

‱ Drying
- No tumble dryer
- No radiator or direct heat source
- No direct sunlight
- Flat drying

Manufacturing & Ecology

‱ 100% German manufacturing in the historic Hirsch Natur factory (founded in 1928).

One of the first companies to commit to organic textiles in Germany!

‱ Production on Bentley mechanical and Lonati electronic machines, complemented by numerous manual steps.

‱ Responsible pre-washing
- With clear water only
- No detergents
- Optimized water consumption
- Natural fiber stabilization

‱ Local recycling
All production waste and yarn packaging are recycled via regional partners.

‱ Virgin wool from certified organic farms (Patagonia). Non-tropical climate → lower parasite pressure → invasive practices unnecessary.
- No preventative pesticide treatments

‱ Organic feed
- Farming respectful of animals' natural rhythm

‱ Other natural fibers depending on the models:
- Organic cotton (GMO-free, chemical pesticide-free)
- Linen, an ancient, robust, and durable fiber

‱ Durability integrated at every step: raw material, production, finishing.

Frequently Asked Questions

‱ Is silk warm?
Silk is not as insulating as thick wool.
It regulates temperature and improves thermal comfort, especially when layered.

‱ Are they suitable for very sensitive skin?
Yes,
silk is one of the softest natural fibers.
It can be suitable for people who cannot tolerate synthetic fibers or even soft wool.

‱ Should they be washed before the first use?
No.
The socks are pre-washed with clear water in the factory (without detergent), which makes them clean and soft upon receipt.

‱ Are they durable despite their fineness?
Yes, silk is a naturally strong fiber, even if the knit remains fine.
However, they must be maintained with care.

Yuliya's Tips

I highly recommend this brand!
Since 2013, we've been wearing them at home, in our shoes, in all the sizes and models I offer.
Over 20,000 pairs have found their way to customers with my guidance.

This pure silk model is, in my opinion - and for me - an essential item.

After years of nylon knee-highs that snag from the first wear, become almost disposable immediately, and end up being expensive due to constant replacement, I am particularly happy that Hirsch Natur offers such a high-quality alternative - which I have never seen elsewhere.

The softness is incomparable!

Beyond comfort, silk has naturally breathable properties and limits odors, which allows them to be worn many times by simply airing them out between uses.

It's a real solution for sensitive skin, reactive to synthetic materials, or for those who suffer from persistently cold feet.
A discreet, yet remarkably effective product.
