Special brush for lambskins/sheepskins – Kaiser

An essential accessory for properly caring for lambskins and sheepskins, whether used in the bed, stroller, car seat or as a portable rug.
The brush helps to preserve the natural properties of the wool and to prolong the softness, loft and thermoregulatory efficiency of the hides.

Why use a specific brush?

Regular brushing helps to:

  • eliminate dust and natural residues (fallen down, small particles);
  • to restore volume to the fibers;
  • promote air circulation between the hairs;
  • maintain the self-cleaning properties of wool thanks to natural lanolin;
  • to keep the skin soft, supple and breathable over time.

The color may vary depending on the batch.

Maintenance tips

Brush the skin:
‱ preferably daily or following intensive use,
‱ after ventilation with fresh air,
‱ just before use: at bedtime, before putting baby down to play, before a diaper change or a stroller walk.

This simple action immediately optimizes the skin's thermoregulatory performance.

Frequently Asked Questions

‱ How often should you brush your skin?
Ideally, brush before each use, but less frequently is also possible. Brushing helps to realign the fibers, remove dust, and maintain the wool's thermoregulatory capacity.

‱ Why not use a regular brush?
Standard brushes can pull too hard, break the fibers, or pull out the down. The Kaiser brush is designed specifically for the short hair of lambskins: it detangles without damaging the leather.

‱ Can I brush the skin even if it is used for a toddler?
Yes,
It's even recommended. Brushing helps to sanitize the surface and remove particles and dust, without chemicals.

‱ Does brushing completely replace washing?
For normal daily use, yes. In the case of a spot stain, local cleaning may be necessary. A full wash should only be considered as a last resort.

‱ Can this brush be used on long-haired hides (Mimosa tanning)?
No. It is designed for short-haired skins (approx. 30 mm). Long-haired skins are not recommended for babies and are not intended for the same uses.

‱ Does the brush damage the leather?
No,
provided you brush in the direction of the hair, without forcing it, and do not apply the brush to the reverse side (leather side).

‱ Should lambskin be washed regularly?
No.
Frequent washing is not recommended. Healthy skin can stay clean for years thanks to its natural self-cleaning properties (lanolin + oxygen). Airing and brushing are sufficient in most cases.

Yuliya's Tips

Just like with our hair, a simple brushing revives the fiber.
Brush the skin carefully, without applying too much force, especially on the edges, holding them so as not to tear off the pieces.

Kaiser

In the Westerwald region of Germany, far removed from standardized production, KAISER has built itself as a family business where the raw material dictates the manufacturing process. Here, leather is not treated as a mere industrial material, but as a natural material whose properties must be preserved.

Passed down through two generations, the brand specializes in the respectful processing of natural lambskins. The goal has never been to accelerate production, but rather to preserve the inherent qualities of the material: softness, temperature regulation, and comfort against the skin. The majority of the products are still made locally, in order to maintain control over the production process and the traditional expertise.

Medical-grade leathers are inspected annually by TÜV Rheinland and certified OEKO-TEX¼ LEATHER STANDARD 100 Class I. They are guaranteed to be free of chrome tanning, a crucial technical choice to ensure safe use from birth. This requirement encompasses not only compliance but also durability: a product that can last for a long time without compromising safety or well-being.

At KAISER, manufacturing is based on a simple balance: traditional craftsmanship, respect for animals, and environmental responsibility. The final product is not conceived as a seasonal accessory, but as a durable comfort item, designed to withstand years and repeated use.
