Why this bandana is more useful than it seems

  • Your baby drools a lot, especially during teething, and you're looking for a healthier, more comfortable solution than a classic bib?
  • You want to protect the chest and upper clothes without adding a stiff or uncomfortable layer to wear?
  • Are you looking for a truly practical wool accessory that keeps you warm while remaining breathable?
  • Do you like simple, beautiful, and durable pieces that are truly useful everyday?

The ManyMonths bandana was designed for this: to protect, keep dry, warm, and complete an outfit with a piece that is both useful and pretty.

The clever little accessory you use all the time

This pure merino wool bandana scarf is fully reversible and openable. It closes and adjusts easily to stay in place all day.

It effectively protects the chest and upper clothes from saliva and small spills, while keeping the neck/torso area pleasantly warm.

It's typically the kind of piece you initially get for teething... and then end up using much longer.

Why wool makes all the difference

Unlike a classic cotton bandana, pure merino wool doesn't just cover: it really helps to better manage moisture and temperature.

Even when it absorbs moisture, wool remains warm, breathable, and comfortable. This keeps the baby drier and avoids the sensation of cold, wet fabric against the skin.

No waterproof layer here: just natural wool, to enjoy its properties without adding unnecessary plasticized material.

Comfortable, adjustable, and well-designed

  • fully reversible
  • openable for easy dressing
  • adjustable with a ribbon and a sewn snap
  • without annoying metal parts
  • stays in place once adjusted
  • comfortable and secure for daily use

Its shape allows it to be worn:

  • under clothing as discrete protection
  • or over clothing as a practical and elegant accessory

An ideal piece all year round

The ManyMonths bandana can be used:

  • during teething
  • as a light layer on the neck and chest
  • as protection against saliva
  • as a breathable accessory in mid-season
  • as a small warm addition in winter

It's a simple piece, but extremely cost-effective in a well-thought-out wool wardrobe.

Benefits of pure wool

  • naturally warm, even when wet
  • soft and breathable
  • stretchy and comfortable to wear
  • suitable for all seasons
  • fabric specially made for MaM Design

How to choose the right children's size for pre-order (delivery in September)

For pre-orders, you always need to anticipate the child's growth between today and reception. With ManyMonths, it's even simpler:
their sizes are adjustable and cover several classic sizes. This leaves real room for growth, without the risk of the garment being too small upon receipt.

Simple rule:

  • never skip a size (because you'll be skipping several classic sizes)
  • choose at least the next size up
  • sometimes the same size the child would wear today - only if it has just started being worn

Maintenance tips

Untreated pure wool clothing does not need to be washed often.

‱ Routine Care

- Regular airing outdoors (outside if possible, or in front of an open window)
- Rest after each use: hung on a hanger or drying rack, not left in a ball
- Spot clean stains with room temperature water and Ulrich gall soap or genuine Marseille soap

‱ Full Wash (rare)

- Hand washing highly recommended despite "Machine Washable" label
- Cold or room temperature water
- Liquid detergent for wool, Ulrich NatĂŒrlich or Disana
- Wash temperature = rinse temperature
- Do not wring, roll in a towel
- Dry flat, away from sun and any heat source

‱ Maintaining Lanolin

- Treatment (every 2-3 washes) or lanolin impregnation (every 3-4 washes) from time to time to preserve self-cleaning and thermoregulating properties.
- Follow the instructions on the product sheets

Manufacturing & Ecology

ManyMonths / MaM / MaD clothing is manufactured for the Finnish brand Babyidea by EcoTextile / HempValley (Denmark/China), a workshop specializing in natural fibers and GOTS certified since 2008 – still a rarity in China and elsewhere. Production adheres to ILO social standards (voluntary work, prohibition of child labor, fair wages, safety, and regulated working hours), and each component is OEKO-TEX¼ Standard 100 Class I certified, making it suitable for contact with babies' skin.

The dyes are produced by certified workshops and tested by independent laboratories. This partner was chosen based on verifiable criteria: technical expertise, traceability, and social guarantees. The goal is transparent and sustainable manufacturing, prioritizing responsible production practices over mere geographical proximity.

Frequently Asked Questions

‱ Can it replace a bib?
For babies who drool or are teething, yes, very often. It's prettier, more discreet, and more comfortable to wear than a classic bib.

‱ Is it only suitable for winter?
No.
It can be worn all year round, depending on the need: protection, light warmth, breathable accessory.

Yuliya's Tips

‱ This is exactly the kind of small item that you might underestimate... until you use it every day. I particularly liked it for my baby who drooled a lot and whose ManyMonths bodysuit/shirt I wanted to protect from needing a wash, even just the top part. Here, you protect without enclosing, without plastic, without a cold effect on the chest. And what's more, it adds a layer of wool exactly where it's needed.

‱ Let it air out and dry as soon as it starts to get saturated with moisture! Acidic saliva + body heat on moisture-saturated wool can eventually lead to the irreversible appearance of felted and dense wool.

‱ Hand wash, please!

This simple step – and rarely necessary – helps preserve the garment's good shape and size over time. Gentle care also helps maintain the product's high quality, which can be a real advantage if you ever wish to resell it.

ManyMonths garments are easily passed down from family to family, and their second-hand value often remains very good. Well-maintained, used for a long time – and then resold, this garment can thus become one of the most economical pieces in your child's wardrobe.

Babyidea / ManyMonths / MaM

The Babyidea story begins in Finland, in the Helsinki region, as a Scandinavian family business guided by a simple idea: to design products that are truly useful in everyday life and consistent with natural parenting.

MaMÂź Design's beginnings date back to 2001, during Bettina's maternity leave; she was then a university lecturer. At that time, physiological babywearing was virtually unknown in Europe, and suitable clothing was practically nonexistent. The first creations were therefore born from a concrete need: to make life with a baby easier, without compromising on comfort or materials.
ManyMonths clothes that grow with the child - are born.

The brand has grown alongside its children: from a few boxes stacked in a bedroom serving as a makeshift workshop to a 500 mÂČ logistics space near Helsinki, and then to a network of distributors and boutiques across Europe. Despite this evolution, the objective remains unchanged: to develop sustainable, practical, and respectful solutions in partnership with companies that share the same values.

Following this principle, the manufacturing of ManyMonths, MaM, and MaD clothing was not based on geographical criteria but on technical and human factors. The choice fell on EcoTextile / HempValley (Denmark/China), a workshop specializing in natural fibers that has been operating for nearly twenty years with high standards of traceability and social responsibility. GOTS certified since 2008—a still rare certification—the manufacturer also adheres to the ILO's international labor standards. Each component is OEKO-TEX¼ Standard 100 Class I certified, and the dyes are tested by independent laboratories.

This partnership reflects the brand's philosophy: prioritizing expertise, transparency, and verifiable guarantees over superficial proximity. The objective remains the same as from the outset: to create clothing designed to last, safe for children, and consistent with a more responsible lifestyle, from design in Finland to manufacturing.

The MaM / MaD collection for adults was born in 2017 to meet the growing demand from parents to finally be able to wear the same wool as their children in ManyMonths.

*******

My business began with the purchase of a simple ManyMonths pure wool bodysuit in 2012. That's when I truly discovered what wool could be like in everyday life. Then, as I outfitted my children with the entire collection, another realization dawned: I wanted to talk about it, explain it, and share it with the world!

That's how my shop was born. This brand was the direct origin of my business, and over the years I have also been very actively involved in its development in France, while influencing certain product developments thanks to feedback from the field.

It all started thanks to Bettina. I will always be grateful to her for these clothes that have accompanied my children - and me - throughout all these years.
