This ManyMonths body/shirt can make a real difference if

  • your child's clothes quickly become too small, forcing you to constantly buy new ones for a very short period of use;
  • you never really know if your child is warm enough
 or, conversely, if they are too bundled up;
  • you layer clothes, thinking it's never warm enough, to the point that your child is sometimes too encumbered to move freely;
  • your child has a fever and wakes up soaked in sweat in cotton clothes, which chills them, disrupts their sleep, and leaves them unnecessarily uncomfortable;
  • you would like to reduce the frequency and quantity of laundry;
  • you use cloth diapers and classic bodysuits are not really suitable, often forcing you to take a size up, which is otherwise too large;
  • you practice or wish to practice Elimination Communication (EC), but classic bodysuits are not practical due to their fixed crotch, while a t-shirt also doesn't offer all the advantages of a bodysuit;
  • you have to change the entire bodysuit for a small leak localized only at the bottom of the garment;
  • you would like a bodysuit to be worn longer, then continue its life as a t-shirt;
  • you are looking for a garment made of natural, ecological, truly healthy material designed for your child's real comfort.

A bodysuit that grows with your child for months
 or even two years!

ManyMonths' bestseller for over 20 years!

Baby clothes often become too small in a few weeks.
We accumulate sizes, layers of clothing, laundry
 without ever being sure that the child is at the right temperature.

The ManyMonths grow-with-me body/shirt was designed to address these everyday situations.

Thanks to natural merino wool, this garment helps maintain a comfortable microclimate around the child's body: neither too hot nor too cold.

Wool absorbs moisture while remaining warm to the touch. Your child therefore stays dry and comfortable, even when the temperature varies.

An ingenious garment that grows with the child

The ManyMonths body/shirt was designed to be worn much longer than a classic bodysuit.

  • Detachable crotch part: the bodysuit then becomes a t-shirt
  • Two fastening positions suitable for cloth diapers
  • Grow-with-me sleeves that can be rolled up or used as mittens
  • Stretchy cut that adapts to the child's growth
  • Comfortable head opening (the bodysuit can be put on through the legs)

A garment that accompanies your child well beyond the first months.

Perfect for cloth diapers and EC

This body/shirt is particularly popular with families using:

  • cloth diapers
  • Elimination Communication (EC)

The detachable crotch allows the garment to be easily adapted to current needs.

And in the event of a small leak, it is not always necessary to change the entire garment or wash it: wool has natural self-cleaning properties. Simple airing of the detachable part is often sufficient.

Exceptional comfort for babies' skin

The body/shirt is made of soft, pure merino wool, in a flexible knit with comfortable seams.

Merino wool:

  • naturally regulates body temperature
  • allows the skin to breathe
  • absorbs moisture while remaining warm
  • limits odors thanks to its natural antibacterial properties

It takes about 9 months for a baby's body to learn to regulate its temperature.
Wool can therefore be a valuable aid during this period.

Essential first layer

The ManyMonths bodysuit is the essential first layer, which directly influences the body's thermal balance.

It helps keep the skin dry. Moisture is absorbed by the wool, while the thus dried air can be warmed by body heat and retained by the next layer, for example, a knit or thicker wool.

The first layer is the most important: it is in direct contact with the skin and conditions the entire thermoregulation of the body. It must therefore be natural and breathable.

Sizes:

Newcomer: 0–3/4 months - 50 to 56/62 cm

Charmer / Explorer: 3–12/18 months - 62 to 80/86 cm

Adventurer: 12–30 months - 80 to 98 cm

Each child grows at their own pace.
I recommend choosing the size according to centimeters rather than age.

ManyMonths have their own size guide

Miracle: Premature (44–50 cm)
Newcomer: 0–3/4 months (50–56/62 cm)
Charmer: 3–6/9 months (62–68/74 cm)
Explorer: 6–12/18 months (68–80/86 cm)
Adventurer: 1–2/2.5 years (80–92/98 cm)
Conqueror: 3–4.5/5 years (98–104/110 cm)
Innovator: 5–7/7.5 years (110–122/128 cm)
Enthusiast: 8–10 years (128–134/140 cm)

Then older children can choose adult clothing MaM or MaD in size S, then M...

How to choose the right child size for pre-order (delivery in September)

For pre-orders, you always need to anticipate the child's growth between today and reception. With ManyMonths, it's even simpler:
their sizes are adjustable and cover several classic sizes. This leaves a real margin for growth, without the risk of the garment being too small upon receipt.

Simple rule:

  • never skip a size (because you'll be skipping several classic sizes)
  • choose at least the next size up
  • sometimes the same size the child would wear today - only if they've just started wearing it

Manufacturing & Ecology

ManyMonths / MaM / MaD clothing is manufactured for the Finnish brand Babyidea by EcoTextile / HempValley (Denmark/China), a workshop specializing in natural fibers and GOTS certified since 2008 – still a rarity in China and elsewhere. Production adheres to ILO social standards (voluntary work, prohibition of child labor, fair wages, safety, and regulated working hours), and each component is OEKO-TEX¼ Standard 100 Class I certified, making it suitable for contact with babies' skin.

The dyes are produced by certified workshops and tested by independent laboratories. This partner was chosen based on verifiable criteria: technical expertise, traceability, and social guarantees. The goal is transparent and sustainable manufacturing, prioritizing responsible production practices over mere geographical proximity.

Frequently Asked Questions

‱ From what age can this bodysuit be used?
This bodysuit/shirt is available in Newcomer size, from birth, before Charmer/Explorer, but I find the Bodysuit/kimono style more practical as an alternative. ManyMonths sizes cover long periods of growth.

‱ Does this bodysuit need to be washed often?
No. Wool is naturally antibacterial and odor-resistant. In most cases, simple airing is enough. Personal example: with 4 bodysuit/shirts (2 dedicated for the day and 2 for the night), I washed less than once a month!

‱ How many pieces are needed for comfortable rotation?
In my experience, 4 bodysuit/shirts per size are ample for comfortable rotation (2 for the night, to alternate and air for 24 hours in turn, and 2 for the day, also to alternate) – and all year round.

For us, these bodysuits were used exclusively, without other tops, and it worked perfectly.
In total, this represents only about 8 bodysuits for the first 2.5 years.

A simple, effective, and minimalist system, especially when used in combination with ManyMonths wool longies.

‱ Is it compatible with cloth diapers?
Yes,
and I don't know of a better alternative! The bodysuit has two fastening positions, allowing the space for cloth diapers to be adjusted. The detachable part allows you to change only the bottom if it needs airing in case of leaks, without changing the entire bodysuit.

‱ Can it be used all year round?
Yes.
Merino wool naturally regulates body temperature and remains comfortable in winter as well as in mid-season. Personal example: even at daycare with the heated floor at +25°C

‱ Why does this bodysuit last longer?
Thanks to its stretchy knit and detachable crotch part, it can be worn first as a bodysuit and then as a t-shirt.

‱ Doesn't merino wool itch?
The merino wool used for baby clothing is very fine and soft. It is suitable even for sensitive skin. Proper care and maintaining lanolin remain a decisive step for the natural softness of any wool.

Yuliya's Tips

‱ This bodysuit/shirt has changed my life and so many others! For that alone, I simply recommend this garment; you won't believe all the positive aspects it offers, and the size of my product description also speaks volumes.

‱ In very cold weather, you can use it with a Cosilana wool-silk top.

‱ The ManyMonths longies – I also highly recommend them: these 2 products will do it all: day wear, night wear, outings, activities, babywearing, and more!

‱ I recommend having 4 of each for the 2 sizes; that's all you'll need! The extra ones are for pleasure or possibly to vary outfits in souvenir photos, as you'll have the same garment in all photos for at least a year :)

‱ Hand wash, please!

This simple gesture – and rarely necessary – helps preserve the garment's good shape and size over time. Gentle care also helps maintain the product's excellent quality, which can be a real advantage if you ever wish to resell it.

ManyMonths clothes are easily passed down from family to family, and their second-hand value often remains very appealing. Well-maintained, used for a very long time – then resold, this garment can thus become one of the most economical pieces in your child's wardrobe.

Babyidea / ManyMonths / MaM

The Babyidea story begins in Finland, in the Helsinki region, as a Scandinavian family business guided by a simple idea: to design products that are truly useful in everyday life and consistent with natural parenting.

MaMÂź Design's beginnings date back to 2001, during Bettina's maternity leave; she was then a university lecturer. At that time, physiological babywearing was virtually unknown in Europe, and suitable clothing was practically nonexistent. The first creations were therefore born from a concrete need: to make life with a baby easier, without compromising on comfort or materials.
ManyMonths clothes that grow with the child - are born.

The brand has grown alongside its children: from a few boxes stacked in a bedroom serving as a makeshift workshop to a 500 mÂČ logistics space near Helsinki, and then to a network of distributors and boutiques across Europe. Despite this evolution, the objective remains unchanged: to develop sustainable, practical, and respectful solutions in partnership with companies that share the same values.

Following this principle, the manufacturing of ManyMonths, MaM, and MaD clothing was not based on geographical criteria but on technical and human factors. The choice fell on EcoTextile / HempValley (Denmark/China), a workshop specializing in natural fibers that has been operating for nearly twenty years with high standards of traceability and social responsibility. GOTS certified since 2008—a still rare certification—the manufacturer also adheres to the ILO's international labor standards. Each component is OEKO-TEX¼ Standard 100 Class I certified, and the dyes are tested by independent laboratories.

This partnership reflects the brand's philosophy: prioritizing expertise, transparency, and verifiable guarantees over superficial proximity. The objective remains the same as from the outset: to create clothing designed to last, safe for children, and consistent with a more responsible lifestyle, from design in Finland to manufacturing.

The MaM / MaD collection for adults was born in 2017 to meet the growing demand from parents to finally be able to wear the same wool as their children in ManyMonths.

*******

My business began with the purchase of a simple ManyMonths pure wool bodysuit in 2012. That's when I truly discovered what wool could be like in everyday life. Then, as I outfitted my children with the entire collection, another realization dawned: I wanted to talk about it, explain it, and share it with the world!

That's how my shop was born. This brand was the direct origin of my business, and over the years I have also been very actively involved in its development in France, while influencing certain product developments thanks to feedback from the field.

It all started thanks to Bettina. I will always be grateful to her for these clothes that have accompanied my children - and me - throughout all these years.
