Why these booties will change your daily life

  • Do you babywear and never know what to put on your baby's feet without resorting to unsuitable shoes?
  • Do pants ride up and leave legs exposed?
  • Are you looking for an alternative to footed rompers, which are impractical with shoes?
  • Do you simply want warm, breathable booties suitable for toddlers who aren't walking yet?

These booties have been designed specifically for these situations.

Booties designed for cold weather… truly

Inspired by Scandinavian winters, ManyMonths booties are designed to keep feet warm for a long time, without compromising on comfort or breathability.

  • High on the leg → no more exposed areas
  • Double material → warmth + regulation
  • Suitable for babywearing, strollers, car seats, and home
  • Generously sized to trap warm air and leave enough room for pure wool socks or ManyMonths pure wool booties

Smart double-sided design

  • Reversible exterior/interior
→ merino wool on one side, fleece on the other
  • Optimal advice: wear the wool on the inside to fully benefit from its thermoregulating and breathable properties
  • Invisible seams
→ no discomfort, even on sensitive skin

Perfect fit, even in motion

  • Double adjustment system: at the ankle and at the top of the bootie
  • Can be worn: high for maximum protection or rolled down as needed
  • Elastic bands provided for even more precise adjustment

3 versions to suit your needs

Product photos:

As this is a pre-order, photos of the new collection are not yet available.

The visuals presented show the product worn and in use, but some colors are not contractual and are from previous collections.

The photos in Foggy Black and Toasted Coconut correspond to the colors carried over in this new collection, if the product concerned will be available in these colors.

Sizes:

Newcomer/Charmer: 0-6/9 months (50-68/74cm)

Explorer: 6–12/18 months (68–80/86 cm)

Every child grows at their own pace.
I recommend choosing the size based on height in centimeters rather than age.

ManyMonths have their own size guide

Miracle: Premature (44–50 cm)
Newcomer: 0–3/4 months (50–56/62 cm)
Charmer: 3–6/9 months (62–68/74 cm)
Explorer: 6–12/18 months (68–80/86 cm)
Adventurer: 1–2/2.5 years (80–92/98 cm)
Conqueror: 3–4.5/5 years (98–104/110 cm)
Innovator: 5–7/7.5 years (110–122/128 cm)
Enthusiast: 8–10 years (128–134/140 cm)
Lionheart: 10–12/13 years (140–152/158 cm)

Then older children can choose adult clothing MaM or MaD in size S, then M...

How to choose the right child size for pre-order (delivery in September)

For pre-orders, you always have to anticipate the child's growth between now and delivery. With ManyMonths, it's even simpler:
their sizes are adaptable and cover several classic sizes. This leaves a real margin for growth, with no risk of the clothing being too small upon receipt.

Simple rule:

  • never skip a size (because you'll skip several classic sizes)
  • choose at least the next size up
  • sometimes the same size the child would wear today - only if it has just been started
Composition

• Pure natural merino wool 380 g/m² inside all models
• Oeko-Tex Standard 100 Class 1 certified
• No Superwash treatment or any other treatment
• Wool from guaranteed non-mulesed production (yarn exclusively made for Babyidea)
• Non-toxic dyes suitable for natural fibers and sensitive skin
• Classic model: partially recycled fleece exterior
Arctic model: 97% merino wool / 3% nylon fleece exterior
• MaM Tec model: Laminated fleece inner layer (approx. 15% recycled fibers) + windproof, waterproof, and breathable Tec membrane

Maintenance tips

Pure, untreated wool clothing does not need to be washed often.

• Regular care

- Regular airing outdoors (if possible, or in front of an open window)
- Rest after each use: hung on a hanger or drying rack and not left in a ball)
- Local stain removal with ambient water and Ulrich bile soap or genuine Marseille soap

• Full wash (rare)

- Hand washing highly recommended despite "Machine Washable" label
- Cold or ambient water
- Ulrich Natürlich or Disana liquid wool detergent
- Wash temperature = rinse temperature
- Do not wring, roll in a towel
- Dry flat, away from sun and any heat source

• Maintaining Lanolin

- Treatment (every 2-3 washes) or lanolin impregnation (every 3-4 washes) from time to time to preserve self-cleaning and thermoregulating properties.
- Follow the advice given on the product sheets

Manufacturing & Ecology

ManyMonths / MaM / MaD clothing is manufactured for the Finnish brand Babyidea by EcoTextile / HempValley (Denmark/China), a workshop specializing in natural fibers and GOTS certified since 2008 – still a rarity in China and elsewhere. Production adheres to ILO social standards (voluntary work, prohibition of child labor, fair wages, safety, and regulated working hours), and each component is OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 Class I certified, making it suitable for contact with babies' skin.

The dyes are produced by certified workshops and tested by independent laboratories. This partner was chosen based on verifiable criteria: technical expertise, traceability, and social guarantees. The goal is transparent and sustainable manufacturing, prioritizing responsible production practices over mere geographical proximity.

Frequently Asked Questions

• Do these slippers replace shoes?
Yes, for babies who are not yet walking. They are much more suitable: flexible, breathable, and unrestrictive.

• Are they really warm enough for winter?
Yes. Thanks to the wool + double thickness + option to add socks.

• Is the MaM Tec membrane essential?
No, but it is useful in wet or windy conditions.

• Can they be worn directly on bare skin?
Yes, especially in mid-season. Wool naturally regulates temperature.

Yuliya's Tips

In cold weather, add pure wool socks underneath (such as Hirsch Natur).
The sizes are deliberately generous:
→ to allow for layering
→ and to allow air to circulate, which is essential for thermal insulation

In mid-season, they can be worn directly barefoot, especially when babywearing.

• Hand wash, please!

This simple gesture - and rarely necessary - helps preserve the garment's beautiful drape and size over time.
Gentle care also helps maintain the product's excellent quality, which can be a real advantage if you ever wish to resell it.

ManyMonths garments are easily passed down from family to family, and their second-hand value often remains very good.
Well-maintained, used for a very long time - then resold, this garment can thus become one of the most economical pieces in your child's wardrobe.

Babyidea / ManyMonths / MaM

The Babyidea story begins in Finland, in the Helsinki region, as a Scandinavian family business guided by a simple idea: to design products that are truly useful in everyday life and consistent with natural parenting.

MaM® Design's beginnings date back to 2001, during Bettina's maternity leave; she was then a university lecturer. At that time, physiological babywearing was virtually unknown in Europe, and suitable clothing was practically nonexistent. The first creations were therefore born from a concrete need: to make life with a baby easier, without compromising on comfort or materials.
ManyMonths clothes that grow with the child - are born.

The brand has grown alongside its children: from a few boxes stacked in a bedroom serving as a makeshift workshop to a 500 m² logistics space near Helsinki, and then to a network of distributors and boutiques across Europe. Despite this evolution, the objective remains unchanged: to develop sustainable, practical, and respectful solutions in partnership with companies that share the same values.

Following this principle, the manufacturing of ManyMonths, MaM, and MaD clothing was not based on geographical criteria but on technical and human factors. The choice fell on EcoTextile / HempValley (Denmark/China), a workshop specializing in natural fibers that has been operating for nearly twenty years with high standards of traceability and social responsibility. GOTS certified since 2008—a still rare certification—the manufacturer also adheres to the ILO's international labor standards. Each component is OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 Class I certified, and the dyes are tested by independent laboratories.

This partnership reflects the brand's philosophy: prioritizing expertise, transparency, and verifiable guarantees over superficial proximity. The objective remains the same as from the outset: to create clothing designed to last, safe for children, and consistent with a more responsible lifestyle, from design in Finland to manufacturing.

The MaM / MaD collection for adults was born in 2017 to meet the growing demand from parents to finally be able to wear the same wool as their children in ManyMonths.

*******

My business began with the purchase of a simple ManyMonths pure wool bodysuit in 2012. That's when I truly discovered what wool could be like in everyday life. Then, as I outfitted my children with the entire collection, another realization dawned: I wanted to talk about it, explain it, and share it with the world!

That's how my shop was born. This brand was the direct origin of my business, and over the years I have also been very actively involved in its development in France, while influencing certain product developments thanks to feedback from the field.

It all started thanks to Bettina. I will always be grateful to her for these clothes that have accompanied my children - and me - throughout all these years.
