This ManyMonths sleeping bag can make a real difference if

  • you're looking for a solution to keep your baby warm while sleeping, but classic sleeping bags are often bulky, sleeveless, and let heat escape (to the point of needing to add a top);
  • you'd like to rock your baby without having to take them out of the sleeping bag and then put them back in once asleep, and without struggling with a padded sleeping bag that they slip out of;
  • you want to feel your baby against you, and not a padded layer between you (even for breastfeeding, without taking baby out of their sleeping bag);
  • you're looking for a versatile garment: a sleeping bag at night, then a nightgown / pajamas upon waking, while staying warm;
  • you want to be able to transport your baby (stroller, car, quick trip) without necessarily having to change them immediately;
  • you want a long-lasting nighttime solution, without having to change sizes every three months;
  • you'd like to reduce the frequency and amount of laundry;
  • you're looking for a natural, ecological, and truly healthy material for your child.

A light, warm, and non-bulky sleeping bag

The ManyMonths sleeping bag is a long-sleeved sleeping sack made of pure merino wool, designed like a second skin: it's very light, not bulky, yet truly warm and comfortable. It provides stable warmth without "over-bundling" the baby, while allowing them real freedom of movement.

A single layer, to easily adapt it: worn directly on the skin (even in cool summer), or supplemented with a wool or wool/silk bodysuit/shirt depending on the season and room temperature.

Adjustable, evolving, truly well-designed

This sleeping bag was designed to last and adapt to growth, thanks to very specific details:

  • sleeves that can be rolled up,
  • neckline adjustment for the first few months,
  • an extension (included) to attach with snap buttons to gain length and prolong use.

It slips on like a dress / long t-shirt: over the head, or through the legs, whichever is most convenient for you.

Without the extension, it can then become a nightgown or a very long t-shirt for an older child, extending the garment's lifespan far beyond the "baby" period, and up to 3-4 years with just one product!

Practical at night, practical outdoors

A detail that changes everything: you can change the diaper without removing the sleeping bag, by simply opening the bottom part (via the extension). At night, this is a huge comfort gain: baby stays warm, and you're quicker.

It also works very well in a stroller or car seat: the bottom strap can pass between the snap buttons of the extension, leaving some snaps open, which allows for adjustable closure.

Safety and freedom of movement

A sleeping bag is recommended for safe sleeping, keeping baby's legs covered and warm, while allowing them to move freely. With this model, baby can move their legs, turn over, move around in their bed, all while remaining covered.

And for rocking moments, it's particularly pleasant: baby can snuggle against you without a thick padding separating you.

Why merino wool is ideal for sleeping

Merino wool allows the skin to breathe, helps wick away moisture, and helps maintain a comfortable temperature: neither too hot nor too cold. This allows the baby to stay dry and comfortable more often, even when the temperature varies.

The long sleeves can be rolled up initially, or left as mittens to prevent baby from scratching themselves or waking up with a start.

Made of soft, pure merino wool, in stretch knit, with soft seams: comfort designed for fragile and sensitive skin.

Available colors:

These colors are from previous collections, but I still wanted to offer them in the store.
For me, these are truly essential pieces - and their usefulness remains the same, regardless of the color.

 Seabreeze Teal (ocean blue-green), Driftwood Taupe (heathered beige)

One size:

 total length approx. 80cm, "dress" length (without detachable part) approx. 57cm

Every child grows at their own pace.
I recommend choosing the size according to height in centimeters rather than age.

ManyMonths have their own size guide

Miracle: Premature (44–50 cm)
Newcomer: 0–3/4 months (50–56/62 cm)
Charmer: 3–6/9 months (62–68/74 cm)
Explorer: 6–12/18 months (68–80/86 cm)
Adventurer: 1–2/2.5 years (80–92/98 cm)
Conqueror: 3–4.5/5 years (98–104/110 cm)
Innovator: 5–7/7.5 years (110–122/128 cm)
Enthusiast: 8–10 years (128–134/140 cm)
Lionheart: 10–12/13 years (140–152/158 cm)

Then older children can choose adult clothing MaM or MaD in size S, then M...

Manufacturing & Ecology

ManyMonths / MaM / MaD clothing is manufactured for the Finnish brand Babyidea by EcoTextile / HempValley (Denmark/China), a workshop specializing in natural fibers and GOTS certified since 2008 – still a rarity in China and elsewhere. Production adheres to ILO social standards (voluntary work, prohibition of child labor, fair wages, safety, and regulated working hours), and each component is OEKO-TEX¼ Standard 100 Class I certified, making it suitable for contact with babies' skin.

The dyes are produced by certified workshops and tested by independent laboratories. This partner was chosen based on verifiable criteria: technical expertise, traceability, and social guarantees. The goal is transparent and sustainable manufacturing, prioritizing responsible production practices over mere geographical proximity.

Frequently Asked Questions

‱ From what age can it be used?
It is suitable for children from 60 cm in height (from about 3 months), and can accompany the child up to about 18 months. Then, thanks to its evolving use (without extension), it can be used as a "dress or long night-shirt" up to 3-4 years old.

‱ Does this sleeping bag need to be washed often?
No. Wool is naturally antibacterial and odor-resistant, and lanolin helps repel stains, including urine leaks. In most cases, simple airing is sufficient. Personal example: with 2 sleeping bags (1 in use, the other aired for 24 hours), I washed them less than once every 2 months!

‱ Can it be used all year round?
Yes.
Merino wool naturally regulates body temperature and remains comfortable in winter as well as in mid-season.

‱ Doesn't merino wool scratch?
The merino wool used for baby clothes is very fine and soft. It is suitable even for sensitive skin. Proper care and maintaining the lanolin are crucial steps for the natural softness of any wool.

Yuliya's Tips

‱ A big favorite, and a piece that left me with so many wonderful memories. No doubt because it was in this sleeping bag that I gave so many cuddles and rocked my baby
 but most of all, nursed: I could always feel my baby against me, not separated from me by a padded sleeping bag in which he "disappeared". And then there are my memories of my toddler already running around with his sleeping bag still closed (when you're motivated!), right after waking up, all while staying warm from the night. Frankly, this is a ManyMonths product that should be prescribed by pediatricians. I could talk about it for a long time
 In any case, I recommend it with much joy, and you’ll thank me for it.

‱ Can be used with ManyMonths bodysuit/shirt + longies or alone in cool summer, for example.

‱ In very cold weather (below +17°C), you can use it with a Cosilana wool-silk top.

‱ I recommend having 2 of them; that's all you'll need for 3-4 years!

‱ Hand wash, please!

This simple gesture – and rarely necessary – helps preserve the garment's beautiful look and its size over time.
Gentle care also helps maintain the product's very good quality, which can be a real advantage if you ever wish to resell it.

ManyMonths garments are easily passed down from family to family, and their second-hand value often remains very good.
Well-maintained, used for a very long time – then resold, this garment can thus become one of the most economical pieces in your child's wardrobe.

Babyidea / ManyMonths / MaM

The Babyidea story begins in Finland, in the Helsinki region, as a Scandinavian family business guided by a simple idea: to design products that are truly useful in everyday life and consistent with natural parenting.

MaMÂź Design's beginnings date back to 2001, during Bettina's maternity leave; she was then a university lecturer. At that time, physiological babywearing was virtually unknown in Europe, and suitable clothing was practically nonexistent. The first creations were therefore born from a concrete need: to make life with a baby easier, without compromising on comfort or materials.
ManyMonths clothes that grow with the child - are born.

The brand has grown alongside its children: from a few boxes stacked in a bedroom serving as a makeshift workshop to a 500 mÂČ logistics space near Helsinki, and then to a network of distributors and boutiques across Europe. Despite this evolution, the objective remains unchanged: to develop sustainable, practical, and respectful solutions in partnership with companies that share the same values.

Following this principle, the manufacturing of ManyMonths, MaM, and MaD clothing was not based on geographical criteria but on technical and human factors. The choice fell on EcoTextile / HempValley (Denmark/China), a workshop specializing in natural fibers that has been operating for nearly twenty years with high standards of traceability and social responsibility. GOTS certified since 2008—a still rare certification—the manufacturer also adheres to the ILO's international labor standards. Each component is OEKO-TEX¼ Standard 100 Class I certified, and the dyes are tested by independent laboratories.

This partnership reflects the brand's philosophy: prioritizing expertise, transparency, and verifiable guarantees over superficial proximity. The objective remains the same as from the outset: to create clothing designed to last, safe for children, and consistent with a more responsible lifestyle, from design in Finland to manufacturing.

The MaM / MaD collection for adults was born in 2017 to meet the growing demand from parents to finally be able to wear the same wool as their children in ManyMonths.

*******

My business began with the purchase of a simple ManyMonths pure wool bodysuit in 2012. That's when I truly discovered what wool could be like in everyday life. Then, as I outfitted my children with the entire collection, another realization dawned: I wanted to talk about it, explain it, and share it with the world!

That's how my shop was born. This brand was the direct origin of my business, and over the years I have also been very actively involved in its development in France, while influencing certain product developments thanks to feedback from the field.

It all started thanks to Bettina. I will always be grateful to her for these clothes that have accompanied my children - and me - throughout all these years.
