This ManyMonths Kimono body/shirt can make a real difference if...

  • you don't know what size bodysuit to choose at birth, so it's neither too small nor too big, while lasting a good while;
  • you're never quite sure if your child is warm enough... or, on the contrary, if they're overdressed;
  • you layer clothes, thinking it's never warm enough, to the point where your child sometimes becomes too encumbered to move freely;
  • your child has a fever and wakes up soaked in sweat in cotton clothes, which chills them, disrupts their sleep, and leaves them unnecessarily uncomfortable;
  • you would like to reduce the frequency and quantity of washes;
  • you use cloth diapers and classic bodysuits aren't really suitable, often forcing you to buy a size up, which is then too big;
  • you have to change the entire bodysuit for a small leak localized only at the bottom of the garment;
  • you are looking for a garment made from natural, ecological material, truly healthy and designed for your child's real comfort.

A kimono body/shirt that accompanies your child for many months...

Baby clothes often become too small in a few weeks.
We accumulate sizes, layers of clothes, washes... without ever being sure that the child is actually at the right temperature.

The ManyMonths adaptable Kimono body/shirt was designed to address these everyday situations.

Thanks to natural merino wool, this garment helps maintain a comfortable microclimate around the child's body: neither too hot nor too cold.

Wool absorbs moisture while remaining warm to the touch. Your child therefore stays dry and comfortable, even when the temperature changes.

An ingenious garment that grows with the child

The ManyMonths kimono body/shirt was designed to be worn much longer than a classic bodysuit.

  • Detachable crotch part: the bodysuit then becomes a T-shirt or a vest!
  • Two fastening positions suitable for cloth diapers
  • Adaptable sleeves that can be rolled up, with integrated mittens
  • Stretchy cut that adapts to the child's growth
  • Opening with practical ties and buttons

A garment that accompanies your child well beyond the first weeks or months.

This kimono body/shirt is particularly appreciated by families using cloth diapers.

The detachable crotch part allows the garment to be easily adapted to current needs.

And in case of a small leak, it's not always necessary to change the whole garment or wash it: wool has naturally self-cleaning properties. Simple airing of the detachable part is often enough.

Exceptional comfort for babies' skin

The kimono body/shirt is made of soft pure merino wool, in a flexible knit with comfortable seams.

Merino wool:

  • naturally regulates body temperature
  • allows the skin to breathe
  • absorbs moisture while remaining warm
  • limits odors thanks to its natural antibacterial properties

It takes approximately 9 months for a baby's body to learn to regulate its temperature.
Wool can therefore be a valuable aid during this period.

Essential first layer

The ManyMonths kimono body constitutes the essential first layer, the one that directly influences the body's thermal balance.

It helps keep the skin dry. Moisture is absorbed by the wool, while the dried air can then be warmed by body heat and retained by the next layer, for example, a knit or thicker wool.

The first layer is the most important: it is in direct contact with the skin and conditions the body's entire thermoregulation. It must therefore be natural and breathable.

Available colors:

These colors are from previous collections, but I still wanted to offer them in the shop.
For me, these are truly essential pieces - and their usefulness remains the same, regardless of the color.

Seabreeze Teal (ocean blue-green), Wild Pomegranate (deep pomegranate red), Twilight Blue (deep midnight blue)

One size:

Newcomer/Charmer: 50-74 cm (approx. 0-9 months)

Every child grows at their own pace.
I recommend that you choose the size based on height in centimeters rather than age.

ManyMonths have their own size guide

Miracle: Premature (44–50 cm)
Newcomer: 0–3/4 months (50–56/62 cm)
Charmer: 3–6/9 months (62–68/74 cm)
Explorer: 6–12/18 months (68–80/86 cm)
Adventurer: 1–2/2.5 years (80–92/98 cm)
Conqueror: 3–4.5/5 years (98–104/110 cm)
Innovator: 5–7/7.5 years (110–122/128 cm)
Enthusiast: 8–10 years (128–134/140 cm)
Lionheart: 10–12/13 years (140–152/158 cm)

Then older children can choose adult clothes MaM or MaD in size S, then M...

Why the ManyMonths bodysuit has become a must-have for so many families

Many parents discover ManyMonths somewhat by chance... then quickly realize that these clothes meet very concrete daily needs: thermal comfort, freedom of movement, incredible durability, and simplicity. And let's not forget: the very economical aspect when you realize how long this garment lasts without having to quickly buy the next one, and how many classic items it replaces!

Used in conjunction with ManyMonths wool longies, this set replaces a large quantity of clothing.

Ultimately, for a baby, the essentials often consist of just two pieces: this body/shirt and a pair of longies.

Maintenance tips

Untreated pure wool clothing does not need to be washed often.

• Routine care

- Regular airing outdoors (outside if possible, or in front of an open window)
- Rest after each use: hung on a hanger or drying rack and not left in a ball)
- Spot clean stains under ambient water with Ulrich gall soap or real Marseille soap

• Full wash (rare)

- Hand washing is highly recommended despite the "Machine washable" label
- Cold or ambient water
- Ulrich Natürlich or Disana liquid wool detergent
- Washing temperature = rinsing temperature
- Do not wring, roll in a towel
- Dry flat, away from direct sunlight and any heat source

• Lanolin maintenance

- Treatment (every 2-3 washes) or lanolin impregnation (every 3-4 washes) from time to time to preserve self-cleaning and thermoregulatory properties.
- Follow the advice given on the product sheets

Manufacturing & Ecology

ManyMonths / MaM / MaD clothing is manufactured for the Finnish brand Babyidea by EcoTextile / HempValley (Denmark/China), a workshop specializing in natural fibers and GOTS certified since 2008 – still a rarity in China and elsewhere. Production adheres to ILO social standards (voluntary work, prohibition of child labor, fair wages, safety, and regulated working hours), and each component is OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 Class I certified, making it suitable for contact with babies' skin.

The dyes are produced by certified workshops and tested by independent laboratories. This partner was chosen based on verifiable criteria: technical expertise, traceability, and social guarantees. The goal is transparent and sustainable manufacturing, prioritizing responsible production practices over mere geographical proximity.

Frequently Asked Questions

• From what age can this kimono be used?
From birth, it can last up to 9 months on average!

• Should this bodysuit be washed often?
No. Wool is naturally antibacterial and odor-resistant. In most cases, simple airing is enough. Personal example: with 4 bodysuits/shirts (2 for day and 2 for night), I washed less than once a month!

• How many pieces are needed for comfortable rotation?
In my experience, 4 bodysuits/shirts per size are more than enough for comfortable rotation (2 for night, to alternate and air for 24h in turn, and 2 for day, also to alternate) - and all year round.

At home, these bodysuits were used exclusively, with no other tops, and it worked perfectly.
In total, this represents only about 8 bodysuits for the first 2.5 years.

A simple, effective, and minimalist system, especially when used in combination with ManyMonths wool longies.

• Is it compatible with cloth diapers?
Yes,
and I don't know a better alternative! The bodysuit has two fastening positions to adjust the space for cloth diapers. The detachable part allows you to change only the bottom if it needs airing due to leaks, without changing the entire bodysuit.

• Can it be used all year round?
Yes.
Merino wool naturally regulates body temperature and remains comfortable in winter as well as mid-season. Personal example: even at daycare with the floor heated to +25°

• Why does this bodysuit last longer?
Thanks to its stretchy knit and detachable crotch, it can be worn first as a bodysuit and then as a t-shirt.

• Doesn't merino wool itch?
The merino wool used for baby clothes is very fine and soft. It is suitable even for sensitive skin. Proper care and maintaining the lanolin remain a decisive step for the natural softness of any wool.

Yuliya's Tips

• A maternity essential (take 2, that will be enough)

• In very cold weather, you can use it with a Cosilana wool-silk top

• ManyMonths longies - I highly recommend these too: these 2 products will do everything: day wear, night wear, outings, activities, babywearing, and so on!

• I recommend having 4 copies for the 2 sizes; that's all you'll need! Anything extra is for pleasure or to vary outfits in souvenir photos, as you'll have the same garment for at least a year in all your pictures :)

• Hand wash, please!

This simple gesture - and rarely necessary - helps preserve the garment's beautiful appearance and size over time. Gentle care also helps maintain the product's high quality, which can be a real advantage if you ever want to resell it.

ManyMonths clothes are easily passed down from family to family, and their second-hand value often remains very good. Well-maintained, used for a long time - then resold, this bodysuit/shirt can thus become one of the most economical pieces in your child's wardrobe.

Babyidea / ManyMonths / MaM

The Babyidea story begins in Finland, in the Helsinki region, as a Scandinavian family business guided by a simple idea: to design products that are truly useful in everyday life and consistent with natural parenting.

MaM® Design's beginnings date back to 2001, during Bettina's maternity leave; she was then a university lecturer. At that time, physiological babywearing was virtually unknown in Europe, and suitable clothing was practically nonexistent. The first creations were therefore born from a concrete need: to make life with a baby easier, without compromising on comfort or materials.
ManyMonths clothes that grow with the child - are born.

The brand has grown alongside its children: from a few boxes stacked in a bedroom serving as a makeshift workshop to a 500 m² logistics space near Helsinki, and then to a network of distributors and boutiques across Europe. Despite this evolution, the objective remains unchanged: to develop sustainable, practical, and respectful solutions in partnership with companies that share the same values.

Following this principle, the manufacturing of ManyMonths, MaM, and MaD clothing was not based on geographical criteria but on technical and human factors. The choice fell on EcoTextile / HempValley (Denmark/China), a workshop specializing in natural fibers that has been operating for nearly twenty years with high standards of traceability and social responsibility. GOTS certified since 2008—a still rare certification—the manufacturer also adheres to the ILO's international labor standards. Each component is OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 Class I certified, and the dyes are tested by independent laboratories.

This partnership reflects the brand's philosophy: prioritizing expertise, transparency, and verifiable guarantees over superficial proximity. The objective remains the same as from the outset: to create clothing designed to last, safe for children, and consistent with a more responsible lifestyle, from design in Finland to manufacturing.

The MaM / MaD collection for adults was born in 2017 to meet the growing demand from parents to finally be able to wear the same wool as their children in ManyMonths.

*******

My business began with the purchase of a simple ManyMonths pure wool bodysuit in 2012. That's when I truly discovered what wool could be like in everyday life. Then, as I outfitted my children with the entire collection, another realization dawned: I wanted to talk about it, explain it, and share it with the world!

That's how my shop was born. This brand was the direct origin of my business, and over the years I have also been very actively involved in its development in France, while influencing certain product developments thanks to feedback from the field.

It all started thanks to Bettina. I will always be grateful to her for these clothes that have accompanied my children - and me - throughout all these years.
