This ManyMonths legging can make a real difference if

  • you're looking for truly versatile pants: leggings under a dress or skirt, a thermoregulating layer under "cold" jeans in winter, a base layer for winter sports, loungewear, or even pajamas;
  • your child's clothes quickly become too small, forcing you to buy new ones frequently for a very short period of use;
  • you're never quite sure if your child is warm enough... or, on the contrary, too warm;
  • you layer several items to be sure, and your child ends up restricted in their movements;
  • you'd like to reduce the frequency and amount of washing;
  • you're looking for a natural, ecological, and truly healthy garment for your child.

Leggings that grow (and adapt to real life)

These ManyMonths leggings are designed for everyday life: a simple, comfortable, and adjustable cut. They can be worn as "visible clothing" or as a thermal layer, depending on the season and use.

Highlights

  • Adjustable waist with elastic, to adapt to body shape without compression
  • Higher cut at the back: better coverage, more comfortable when moving
  • Roll-up leg cuffs: to adjust the length and extend the lifespan
  • Fine, soft knit: lightweight, pleasant to the touch, often described as "almost cotton"
  • Easy to put on: the child can put it on by themselves
  • Natural thermoregulation: comfortable when it's cool, pleasant when it's milder
  • Textile comfort: soft pure merino wool, stretch knit, flexible seams for sensitive skin

How to wear it

  • directly against the skin, like classic leggings
  • under pants in winter to add a thermoregulating layer
  • as a base layer for winter sports
  • at home, as loungewear or pajamas

Merino wool allows the skin to breathe, helps wick away moisture, and contributes to maintaining a comfortable temperature: neither too hot nor too cold.

Colors offered:

These colors are from previous collections, but I wanted to offer them in the store anyway.
For me, these are truly essential pieces - and their usefulness remains the same, regardless of the color.

Seabreeze Teal (ocean blue-green), Foggy Black (heather black), Twilight Blue (twilight blue)

Sizes

Adventurer: 1–2/2.5 years (80–92/98 cm)

Conqueror: 3–4.5/5 years (98–110 cm)

Innovator: 5–7/7.5 years (110-128 cm)

Enthusiast: 8–10 years (128–134/140 cm)

Lionheart: 10–12/13 years (140–152/158 cm)

Every child grows at their own pace.
I recommend choosing the size according to the height in centimeters rather than age.

ManyMonths have their own size guide

Miracle: Premature (44–50 cm)
Newcomer: 0–3/4 months (50–56/62 cm)
Charmer: 3–6/9 months (62–68/74 cm)
Explorer: 6–12/18 months (68–80/86 cm)
Adventurer: 1–2/2.5 years (80–92/98 cm)
Conqueror: 3–4.5/5 years (98–104/110 cm)
Innovator: 5–7/7.5 years (110–122/128 cm)
Enthusiast: 8–10 years (128–134/140 cm)
Lionheart: 10–12/13 years (140–152/158 cm)

Then older children can choose adult clothing MaM or MaD in size S, then M...

Composition

‱ No Superwash or any other treatment
‱ Wool from guaranteed non-mulesed production (yarn manufactured exclusively for Babyidea)

Maintenance tips

Untreated pure wool clothing does not need to be washed often.

‱ Routine Care

- Regular airing outdoors (outside if possible, or in front of an open window)
- Rest after each use: hung on a hanger or drying rack, not left in a ball
- Spot clean stains with room temperature water and Ulrich gall soap or genuine Marseille soap

‱ Full Wash (rare)

- Hand washing highly recommended despite "Machine Washable" label
- Cold or room temperature water
- Liquid detergent for wool, Ulrich NatĂŒrlich or Disana
- Wash temperature = rinse temperature
- Do not wring, roll in a towel
- Dry flat, away from sun and any heat source

‱ Maintaining Lanolin

- Treatment (every 2-3 washes) or lanolin impregnation (every 3-4 washes) from time to time to preserve self-cleaning and thermoregulating properties.
- Follow the instructions on the product sheets

Manufacturing & Ecology

ManyMonths / MaM / MaD clothing is manufactured for the Finnish brand Babyidea by EcoTextile / HempValley (Denmark/China), a workshop specializing in natural fibers and GOTS certified since 2008 – still a rarity in China and elsewhere. Production adheres to ILO social standards (voluntary work, prohibition of child labor, fair wages, safety, and regulated working hours), and each component is OEKO-TEX¼ Standard 100 Class I certified, making it suitable for contact with babies' skin.

The dyes are produced by certified workshops and tested by independent laboratories. This partner was chosen based on verifiable criteria: technical expertise, traceability, and social guarantees. The goal is transparent and sustainable manufacturing, prioritizing responsible production practices over mere geographical proximity.

Frequently Asked Questions

‱ Why is it called adaptable?
Thanks to the adjustable waist and roll-up cuffs that allow the leggings to grow with your child.

‱ Does this legging need frequent washing?
No. Wool is naturally antibacterial, odor-resistant, and stain-resistant – thanks to lanolin. In most cases, simply airing it out is enough.

‱ Can it be used all year round?
Yes.
Merino wool naturally regulates body temperature and remains comfortable in winter, mid-season, and even cool summer weather.

‱ Isn't merino wool scratchy?
The merino wool used for baby clothing is very fine and soft. It is suitable even for sensitive skin. Proper care and maintaining the lanolin content are crucial steps for the natural softness of any wool.

Yuliya's Tips

‱ I love these leggings for a very simple reason: they literally saved my children from the cold for entire winters, especially when they absolutely wanted to wear jeans "like their friends" or classic trousers... often freezing in winter. The ManyMonths leggings then become the essential first layer, close to the body: they create that thermal comfort that changes everything, without adding bulk and without restricting movement. They are also a must-have for holidays: when travelling, they save space because they can be used for everything (daily wear, pyjamas, base layer). And for winter sports, they are fundamental: worn under trousers, they help to stay warm longer while managing moisture, which prevents the "damp cold" effect after exercise.

‱ In very cold weather, you can use it with ManyMonths wool leggings or Cosilana wool-silk leggings.

‱ Hand wash, please!

This simple gesture – and rarely necessary – helps to preserve the garment's beautiful appearance and its size over time. Gentle care also helps maintain a very good product quality, which can be a real advantage if you ever wish to resell it.

ManyMonths garments are easily passed down from family to family, and their second-hand value often remains very attractive. Well-maintained, used for a very long time – then resold, this garment can thus become one of the most economical pieces in your child's wardrobe.

Babyidea / ManyMonths / MaM

The Babyidea story begins in Finland, in the Helsinki region, as a Scandinavian family business guided by a simple idea: to design products that are truly useful in everyday life and consistent with natural parenting.

MaMÂź Design's beginnings date back to 2001, during Bettina's maternity leave; she was then a university lecturer. At that time, physiological babywearing was virtually unknown in Europe, and suitable clothing was practically nonexistent. The first creations were therefore born from a concrete need: to make life with a baby easier, without compromising on comfort or materials.
ManyMonths clothes that grow with the child - are born.

The brand has grown alongside its children: from a few boxes stacked in a bedroom serving as a makeshift workshop to a 500 mÂČ logistics space near Helsinki, and then to a network of distributors and boutiques across Europe. Despite this evolution, the objective remains unchanged: to develop sustainable, practical, and respectful solutions in partnership with companies that share the same values.

Following this principle, the manufacturing of ManyMonths, MaM, and MaD clothing was not based on geographical criteria but on technical and human factors. The choice fell on EcoTextile / HempValley (Denmark/China), a workshop specializing in natural fibers that has been operating for nearly twenty years with high standards of traceability and social responsibility. GOTS certified since 2008—a still rare certification—the manufacturer also adheres to the ILO's international labor standards. Each component is OEKO-TEX¼ Standard 100 Class I certified, and the dyes are tested by independent laboratories.

This partnership reflects the brand's philosophy: prioritizing expertise, transparency, and verifiable guarantees over superficial proximity. The objective remains the same as from the outset: to create clothing designed to last, safe for children, and consistent with a more responsible lifestyle, from design in Finland to manufacturing.

The MaM / MaD collection for adults was born in 2017 to meet the growing demand from parents to finally be able to wear the same wool as their children in ManyMonths.

*******

My business began with the purchase of a simple ManyMonths pure wool bodysuit in 2012. That's when I truly discovered what wool could be like in everyday life. Then, as I outfitted my children with the entire collection, another realization dawned: I wanted to talk about it, explain it, and share it with the world!

That's how my shop was born. This brand was the direct origin of my business, and over the years I have also been very actively involved in its development in France, while influencing certain product developments thanks to feedback from the field.

It all started thanks to Bettina. I will always be grateful to her for these clothes that have accompanied my children - and me - throughout all these years.
