This ManyMonths t-shirt can make a real difference if…

  • your child sweats at school, then runs around at recess and catches a cold because their back is wet;
  • clothes become too small too quickly, forcing you to constantly repurchase for a very short period of use;
  • you never really know if your child is warm enough... or, on the contrary, if they are too bundled up;
  • you layer several items "just in case," and your child ends up restricted in their movements;
  • you would like to reduce the frequency and amount of washing;
  • you favor the principle of minimalism: less but better and only essentials, without clutter, including for travel;
  • you are looking for clothing made from natural, ecological, and truly healthy material for your child.

An adjustable, evolving t-shirt… designed for real life

The ManyMonths long-sleeved t-shirt was designed to accompany children in their daily lives, especially in common situations: overheated schools, temperature variations, physical activity, outdoor excursions.

Merino wool allows the skin to breathe and helps moisture wick away. The result: the child remains more comfortable, even when alternating between hot and cold throughout the day.

Highlights

  • Ideal for school: limits the "wet back" effect at the end of the day, especially in winter.
  • Worn alone or layered: perfect as a first layer, and can also be worn over a wool/silk layer.
  • Fine, light and soft knit: feels similar to fine cotton, without the "sweater" effect.
  • Easy to put on: designed for the child to dress themselves.
  • Practical shoulder opening: quality snap buttons for easier head passage.
  • Unisex: suitable for both girls and boys.
  • Textile comfort: stretch knit, soft seams, pleasant on sensitive skin.

Why merino wool for everyday wear?

Merino wool naturally helps the body maintain a comfortable temperature: neither too hot, nor too cold.
It absorbs moisture while remaining pleasant to the touch, which avoids the typical discomfort of clothing that holds moisture against the skin.

And since wool is naturally odor-resistant, it often allows for reduced washing: simple airing is frequently sufficient.

Essential First Layer

The ManyMonths t-shirt is the essential first layer, the one that directly influences the body's thermal balance.

It helps keep the skin dry. Moisture is absorbed by the wool, while the dried air can then be warmed by body heat and retained by the next layer, for example, a knit or thicker wool.

The first layer is the most important: it is in direct contact with the skin and conditions the body's entire thermoregulation. It must therefore be natural and breathable.

Every child grows at their own pace.
I recommend choosing the size based on height in centimeters rather than age.

ManyMonths have their own size guide

Miracle: Premature (44–50 cm)
Newcomer: 0–3/4 months (50–56/62 cm)
Charmer: 3–6/9 months (62–68/74 cm)

Then older children can choose adult clothing MaM or MaD in size S, then M...

How to choose the right child size for pre-order (delivery in September)

For pre-orders, you always need to anticipate the child's growth between today and receipt. With ManyMonths, it's even simpler:
their sizes are evolving and cover several standard sizes. This leaves a real margin for growth, with no risk of the garment being too small upon receipt.

Simple rule:

  • never skip a size (because you'll be skipping several standard sizes)
  • always choose at least the next size up
  • sometimes the same size the child would wear today - only if they have just started wearing it
Composition

• Natural Merino wool 380 gsm
• Oeko-Tex Standard 100 Class 1 certified
• No Superwash or any other treatment
• Wool from guaranteed non-mulesed production (yarn made exclusively for Babyidea)
• Non-toxic dyes suitable for natural fibers and sensitive skin
• Patches made of 55% hemp / 45% organic cotton

Maintenance tips

Garments made of pure, untreated wool do not need to be washed often.

• Regular Care

- Regular airing outdoors (outside if possible, or in front of an open window)
- Rest after each use: hung on a hanger or drying rack, not left in a ball)
- Spot cleaning of stains with room temperature water and Ulrich gall soap or genuine Marseille soap

• Full Wash (rare)

- Hand washing highly recommended despite "Machine washable" label
- Cold or room temperature water
- Ulrich Natürlich or Disana liquid wool detergent
- Wash temperature = rinse temperature
- Do not wring, roll in a towel
- Dry flat, away from sun and any heat source

• Maintaining Lanolin

- Treatment (every 2-3 washes) or lanolin impregnation (every 3-4 washes) from time to time to preserve self-cleaning and thermoregulating properties.
- Follow the instructions on the product sheets

Manufacturing & Ecology

ManyMonths / MaM / MaD clothing is manufactured for the Finnish brand Babyidea by EcoTextile / HempValley (Denmark/China), a workshop specializing in natural fibers and GOTS certified since 2008 – still a rarity in China and elsewhere. Production adheres to ILO social standards (voluntary work, prohibition of child labor, fair wages, safety, and regulated working hours), and each component is OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 Class I certified, making it suitable for contact with babies' skin.

The dyes are produced by certified workshops and tested by independent laboratories. This partner was chosen based on verifiable criteria: technical expertise, traceability, and social guarantees. The goal is transparent and sustainable manufacturing, prioritizing responsible production practices over mere geographical proximity.

Frequently Asked Questions

• How to wear it: alone or as a base layer?
Both. It can be worn next to the skin, or over a wool/silk layer if you're looking for a 100% natural fiber layering system.

• Do I need to wash this t-shirt often?
No. Wool is naturally antibacterial and resistant to odors and stains – thanks to lanolin. In most cases, simple airing is enough. Personal example: with 3 t-shirts, I washed them less than once a month!

• How many pieces are needed for comfortable rotation?
In my experience, 3 t-shirts per size are more than enough for comfortable rotation for daily use – and all year round.

In our home, these t-shirts were used exclusively between the ages of 2 and 6, without other tops, and it worked perfectly. Then up to the largest size (and now adult size) in combination with other classic clothes.

• Can it be used all year round?
Yes.
Merino wool naturally regulates body temperature and remains comfortable in winter as well as in mid-season, not to mention cool summers.

• Why does this t-shirt last longer?
Thanks to its stretchy knit, it stays well-fitted as your child grows. The sleeves also offer about ten centimeters of rollable length, without hindering movement: at first, you roll them up, later you unroll them, and the t-shirt continues to accompany the child for a long time.

• Doesn't merino wool itch?
The merino wool used for baby clothes is very fine and soft. It is suitable even for sensitive skin. Proper care and maintaining the lanolin remain crucial for the natural softness of any wool.

Yuliya's Tips

• This t-shirt is the logical next step after the ManyMonths bodysuit/shirt - and fortunately all sizes are covered up to adult! For this alone - I simply recommend this garment; you won't believe all the positive aspects it offers, and the length of my product description also speaks volumes.

• In very cold weather, you can use it with a Cosilana wool-silk top.

• Hand wash, please!

This simple (and rarely necessary) gesture helps preserve the garment's beautiful fit and size over time.
Gentle care also helps maintain the product's high quality, which can be a real advantage if you ever wish to resell it.

ManyMonths clothing is easily passed down from family to family, and its second-hand value often remains very good.
Well-maintained, used for a long time - then resold, this garment can thus become one of the most economical pieces in your child's wardrobe.

Babyidea / ManyMonths / MaM

The Babyidea story begins in Finland, in the Helsinki region, as a Scandinavian family business guided by a simple idea: to design products that are truly useful in everyday life and consistent with natural parenting.

MaM® Design's beginnings date back to 2001, during Bettina's maternity leave; she was then a university lecturer. At that time, physiological babywearing was virtually unknown in Europe, and suitable clothing was practically nonexistent. The first creations were therefore born from a concrete need: to make life with a baby easier, without compromising on comfort or materials.
ManyMonths clothes that grow with the child - are born.

The brand has grown alongside its children: from a few boxes stacked in a bedroom serving as a makeshift workshop to a 500 m² logistics space near Helsinki, and then to a network of distributors and boutiques across Europe. Despite this evolution, the objective remains unchanged: to develop sustainable, practical, and respectful solutions in partnership with companies that share the same values.

Following this principle, the manufacturing of ManyMonths, MaM, and MaD clothing was not based on geographical criteria but on technical and human factors. The choice fell on EcoTextile / HempValley (Denmark/China), a workshop specializing in natural fibers that has been operating for nearly twenty years with high standards of traceability and social responsibility. GOTS certified since 2008—a still rare certification—the manufacturer also adheres to the ILO's international labor standards. Each component is OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 Class I certified, and the dyes are tested by independent laboratories.

This partnership reflects the brand's philosophy: prioritizing expertise, transparency, and verifiable guarantees over superficial proximity. The objective remains the same as from the outset: to create clothing designed to last, safe for children, and consistent with a more responsible lifestyle, from design in Finland to manufacturing.

The MaM / MaD collection for adults was born in 2017 to meet the growing demand from parents to finally be able to wear the same wool as their children in ManyMonths.

*******

My business began with the purchase of a simple ManyMonths pure wool bodysuit in 2012. That's when I truly discovered what wool could be like in everyday life. Then, as I outfitted my children with the entire collection, another realization dawned: I wanted to talk about it, explain it, and share it with the world!

That's how my shop was born. This brand was the direct origin of my business, and over the years I have also been very actively involved in its development in France, while influencing certain product developments thanks to feedback from the field.

It all started thanks to Bettina. I will always be grateful to her for these clothes that have accompanied my children - and me - throughout all these years.
