Enveloping softness, freedom of movement, and peaceful sleep – for children who walk

This Reiff polar merino wool sleepsuit gently wraps the child in warmth without overheating, while allowing them to move freely.
Soft, very gentle, and breathable, it creates a comfortable cocoon suitable for active children who no longer accept traditional sleeping bags.

The full-length zipper makes dressing and changing easy, even at night, without completely undressing the child.

A sleep essential designed for comfort and safety.

Protective organic merino wool

  • Made from pure organic virgin merino wool
  • Soft and lightweight polar wool knit
  • Natural thermoregulation
  • Effective moisture management

The slightly fluffy structure traps air and maintains stable warmth without a suffocating effect.
The child stays warm while maintaining a balanced body temperature.

Heat equivalent: approximately TOG 2.5 - suitable for a room around 15 to 21°C.

Designed for comfort and practicality

  • practical full-length zipper for changing
  • separated legs allowing walking and movement
  • fitted cuffs and ankles to retain warmth
  • soft, supple, and lightweight material
  • can often simply be aired out between nights

Size and fit

The size is appropriate when the neckline remains snug (a maximum of one finger space) and there is a little room around the feet for free movement.

Safety and use

  • Do not use with a thick duvet or blanket
  • Adapt nightwear to the ambient temperature
  • Allows the child to sleep covered while remaining mobile

Impeccable German quality

Reiff is a family-owned German company specializing in knitting and natural textiles, with local production and strict quality control
(see Ecology & Manufacturing below).

Each piece is made with great technical precision to ensure durability, comfort, and quality, even with daily use by children.

Reiff's knitting technique allows the leggings to better retain their shape over time, limiting fabric stretching and the appearance of baggy knees, even with daily use.

A technical requirement that Reiff is particularly proud of, serving durability and comfort.

  • modern and timeless design
  • easy to wear and combine
  • durability for many years
  • and it's a very beautiful product!

Red, pacific, grey, sage green

Sizes:

74/80, 86/92, 98/104, 116

Size advice

N.B.: Every baby and child grows at their own pace. Maison de MaMoulia recommends choosing the size based on height in centimeters rather than the indicative age.

Understanding Reiff children's sizes

At Reiff, each size is designed to last until the next size. Example: a size 98/104 is designed to cover the entire growth period up to the next size, i.e., approximately from 98 to 116 cm (and often beyond depending on the child's morphology).

It is therefore not a garment strictly limited to 98-104 cm, but an evolving size designed to accompany growth over an extended period.

Composition

• Pure organic merino wool
• GOTS and IVN certified
• Without Superwash treatment or any other treatment
• Wool sourced from a guaranteed non-mulesing production in Patagonia

Maintenance tips

Pure, untreated wool garments do not need to be washed frequently.
Wool has a natural self-maintenance capacity thanks to its fibrous structure, keratin and lanolin.

• Routine maintenance (recommended)

- Regular ventilation in the open air (ideally outside, or in front of an open window).

- Rest after each use: hang the garment on a hanger or drying rack, do not leave it in a ball in order to preserve the fiber and its shape.

- Local cleaning of stains under water at room temperature with Ulrich ox gall stain-removing soap or genuine Marseille soap.

• Complete wash (rare)

- A complete wash should remain exceptional.

- Hand washing is highly recommended.

- Cold water or water at room temperature.

- Ulrich Natürlich special liquid wool laundry detergent, ideally the version already enriched with lanolin in order to limit the contact time with water and avoid having to do a separate Cure bath.

-Wash temperature = rinse temperature (avoid any thermal shock).

- Do not wring, wrap in a towel to absorb.

- Dry flat, away from the sun and any source of heat.

• If you choose to machine wash at your own risk:

To be avoided as much as possible.

- “Hand wash” or “Wool” program configured as follows:

-20 °C

- without spin or 400 rpm maximum

- short cycle (40 minutes maximum)
If your machine does not allow these settings, do not use the machine wash function.

Untreated wool naturally felts under the combined effect of heat, water, and friction. These precautions aim to preserve the fiber's intact structure and natural properties.

Manufacturing & Ecology

The merino wool comes from certified organic farms in Patagonia, guaranteed mulesing-free. After washing, spinning, dyeing, and yarn preparation are carried out in Europe according to GOTS and largely IVN standards. The dyes used are synthetic but selected for their compatibility with ecological standards and are controlled within the framework of textile certifications.

The knitting is done in-house on Stoll machines, then the garment making and finishing are carried out within a radius of about 50 km, ensuring traceability and limiting transport.

Accessories are selected according to ecological criteria: natural buttons (mother-of-pearl, corozo, metal), closures mostly made of recycled plastic and components certified Oeko-Tex Standard 100. This organization allows for precise quality control and low-impact production.

Frequently Asked Questions

• What room temperature is it suitable for?
TOG rating 2.5: ideal for a room between 15 and 21°C. Simply adjust the layers of clothing underneath according to the season.

• How does this differ from a classic baby sleeping bag?
This version with legs allows the child to move, walk and turn over freely while remaining covered all night.

• What should I put underneath?
A first layer of wool or wool-silk is usually sufficient. The cooler the room, the warmer the layer underneath can be.

• Can it replace the cover?
Yes.
It is designed to be used alone, without a duvet or thick blanket.

• How can you tell if a child has the right temperature?
Check the nape of the neck: lukewarm = perfect.
Humid = too hot.
Cold and pale = add an extra layer of clothing.

• Why can hands or feet feel cool?
That's normal. Babies' peripheral circulation is different: it's not a reliable indicator of cold.

• Can it be worn directly on the skin?
Yes.
Depending on individual sensitivity, a wool/silk layer can be worn underneath.

• How long can it be worn without washing?
On average, wool lasts 1-2 months depending on use, with simple airing. A urine leak is absolutely not a reason to wash wool.

Yuliya's Tips

• In very cold weather (below approximately 17°C), use a wool-silk layer and a ManyMonths wool bodysuit, for example. Between 18-20°C, just a ManyMonths wool bodysuit or t-shirt should suffice. Above that, just a Cosilana wool-silk layer. Check the middle of the back after at least 15 minutes of use and adjust the layers if necessary.

• Sleeping on a sheepskin is really the best of the best to get all the benefits that wool can offer a child.

• I highly recommend hand washing to preserve the size and structure of the garment.
Ulrich Natürlich laundry detergent enriched with lanolin is highly recommended.

Reiff

At Reiff, the story began in 1939 in a small knitting workshop in Gönningen, at the foot of the Swabian Jura. Since then, the company has remained family-owned and has never strayed from its original craft: working with knitwear. Over the generations, the machines have evolved, but the core idea has remained the same – understanding the material before trying to transform it.

The brand initially focused on baby and children's clothing, where skin sensitivity demands real attention. This experience shaped their approach: prioritizing natural fibers, durable construction, and pieces designed for long-lasting wear. Over time, the collections expanded to include adults without altering this initial philosophy.

The organic merino wool comes from certified farms, then continues its journey through Europe before being knitted in their own workshops. The garment making and finishing are done locally, with partners located near the company. This proximity isn't just geographical: it allows them to track each garment from the yarn to the finished product.

At Reiff, sustainability isn't based on an abstract promise but on continuity: the same materials, the same partners, the same time-honored craftsmanship. The garments are designed to withstand everyday wear, endure over time, and often be passed down from one person to another – because a well-made textile doesn't need to be replaced quickly.
