Timeless, practical, and comfortable - the versatile everyday hoodie.

This structured merino wool (wool crepe) hoodie from Reiff is designed as an easy-to-wear layer for children: protective without being heavy, breathable and light without being thin. Its textured knit gives the garment structure while remaining supple, and allows for movement without stiffness.

The large kangaroo pocket keeps hands warm and adds everyday practicality, while the hood naturally protects against wind and temperature changes.

A garment designed to last for a long time and through the seasons.

What is "wool crepe" knit?

It is a structured knit that is lightly fulled with heat during finishing to tighten the stitches and increase density. The fabric remains flexible while becoming more robust and durable.

A special organic merino wool

  • Made from pure organic virgin merino wool.
  • Structured fabric: breathable, stable and durable
  • Less fluffy than fleece wool (brushed wool), drier feel
  • Excellent shape retention over time
  • Natural thermoregulation and good moisture management

This specific wool structure helps limit the feeling of overheating while maintaining effective protection. It also reduces washing frequency thanks to wool's natural anti-odor properties.

An easy-to-wear hoodie

  • Comfortable fit adapted to movement
  • Protective hood without added bulk
  • Large kangaroo pocket for everyday practicality
  • Stable fabric that retains its shape over time
  • Easy to pair with trousers or overalls
  • Ideal for a sustainable and functional children's wardrobe
  • Unisex

Its breathable structure makes it particularly suitable for mid-seasons, cool mornings, and changing environments (school, outdoors, travel).

The colors are coordinated with the entire Reiff collection, to create harmonious outfits that are easy to combine with other natural brands offered in the shop.

It is a real discovery that joins my personal wardrobe selection, a garment designed to be worn, loved, and kept for a long time.

Emerald, Taupe Beige, Navy Blue, Stone Grey, Berry Pink, Turmeric

Sizes:

86/92, 98/104, 104, 116, 128, 140, 152, 164

Size advice

N.B.: Each baby and child grows at their own pace. Maison de MaMoulia recommends choosing the size based on height in centimeters rather than indicative age.

Understanding Reiff children's sizes

At Reiff, each size is designed to last until the next size. For example: a size 86/92 is designed to cover the entire growth period up to the next size, which is approximately from 86 to 98 cm (and often beyond, depending on the child's build).

It is therefore not a garment strictly limited to 86-92 cm, but an evolving size designed to accompany growth over an extended period.

Composition

• Pure organic merino wool, wool crepe fabrics
• GOTS and IVN certified
• Without Superwash treatment or any other treatment
• Wool sourced from a guaranteed non-mulesing production in Patagonia

Maintenance tips

Pure, untreated wool garments do not need to be washed frequently.
Wool has a natural self-maintenance capacity thanks to its fibrous structure, keratin and lanolin.

• Routine maintenance (recommended)

- Regular ventilation in the open air (ideally outside, or in front of an open window).

- Rest after each use: hang the garment on a hanger or drying rack, do not leave it in a ball in order to preserve the fiber and its shape.

- Local cleaning of stains under water at room temperature with Ulrich ox gall stain-removing soap or genuine Marseille soap.

• Complete wash (rare)

- A complete wash should remain exceptional.

- Hand washing is highly recommended.

- Cold water or water at room temperature.

- Ulrich Natürlich special liquid wool laundry detergent, ideally the version already enriched with lanolin in order to limit the contact time with water and avoid having to do a separate Cure bath.

-Wash temperature = rinse temperature (avoid any thermal shock).

- Do not wring, wrap in a towel to absorb.

- Dry flat, away from the sun and any source of heat.

• If you choose machine washing:

To be avoided as much as possible.

- “Hand wash” or “Wool” program configured as follows:

-20 °C

- without spin or 400 rpm maximum

- short cycle (40 minutes maximum)
If your machine does not allow these settings, do not use the machine wash function.

Untreated wool naturally felts under the combined effect of heat, water, and friction. These precautions aim to preserve the fiber's intact structure and natural properties.

Manufacturing & Ecology

The merino wool comes from certified organic farms in Patagonia, guaranteed mulesing-free. After washing, spinning, dyeing, and yarn preparation are carried out in Europe according to GOTS and largely IVN standards. The dyes used are synthetic but selected for their compatibility with ecological standards and are controlled within the framework of textile certifications.

The knitting is done in-house on Stoll machines, then the garment making and finishing are carried out within a radius of about 50 km, ensuring traceability and limiting transport.

Accessories are selected according to ecological criteria: natural buttons (mother-of-pearl, corozo, metal), closures made mostly of recycled plastic and components certified Oeko-Tex Standard 100. This organization allows for precise quality control and low-impact production.

Frequently Asked Questions

• What is the difference between this and fleece/boiled wool?
Structured wool crepe is less fluffy than fleece and much less dense and thick than the boiled wool used in garments like Disana. Of the three fabrics, it is the lightest.

• Does this wool itch?
No.
The structure is different from a fluffy wool: the feel is drier but generally well-tolerated, even directly against the skin. It's very soft!

• Is it a warm garment?
It protects against the cold while remaining breathable. It is particularly suitable for cool temperatures and the mid-seasons, even in summer, rather than for extreme cold where you are not wearing it.

• Can it be worn directly on the skin?
Yes.
The fabric remains soft enough for direct wear against the skin.
Depending on individual sensitivity, a wool/silk layer can be worn underneath.

• How long can it be worn without washing?
Dozens of times depending on use, with simple ventilation. Even an entire season!

• Is it hot?
Wool is thermoregulating: warm when it's cold, breathable when it's warm. Adding a base layer of wool or a wool-silk blend is possible in sub-zero temperatures.

• Does wool stretch?
Yes, slightly so with use, but it easily regains its shape after rest.

Yuliya's Tips

• In very cold weather, wearing a Cosilana wool-silk t-shirt underneath is possible to reinforce the thermal layer.

• I highly recommend hand washing to preserve the size and structure of the garment.
Ulrich Natürlich laundry detergent enriched with lanolin is highly recommended.

Reiff

At Reiff, the story began in 1939 in a small knitting workshop in Gönningen, at the foot of the Swabian Jura. Since then, the company has remained family-owned and has never strayed from its original craft: working with knitwear. Over the generations, the machines have evolved, but the core idea has remained the same – understanding the material before trying to transform it.

The brand initially focused on baby and children's clothing, where skin sensitivity demands real attention. This experience shaped their approach: prioritizing natural fibers, durable construction, and pieces designed for long-lasting wear. Over time, the collections expanded to include adults without altering this initial philosophy.

The organic merino wool comes from certified farms, then continues its journey through Europe before being knitted in their own workshops. The garment making and finishing are done locally, with partners located near the company. This proximity isn't just geographical: it allows them to track each garment from the yarn to the finished product.

At Reiff, sustainability isn't based on an abstract promise but on continuity: the same materials, the same partners, the same time-honored craftsmanship. The garments are designed to withstand everyday wear, endure over time, and often be passed down from one person to another – because a well-made textile doesn't need to be replaced quickly.
